I had a wonderful experience with this lovely and united family. They were very welcoming from the first moment. The children are very intelligent and communicative, and it was a joy to spend time with them. This was my first Workaway experience and I could not have chosen a better place. It is definitely a great option for anyone looking for a positive and friendly environment. My tasks included helping both outside and inside the house, and everything was always well organized and clear. I felt happy and grateful to be part of their home and daily life. Thank you for the great days we shared together. I wish all the best to Nadine and the whole family.

Marvin stayed with us for 2 weeks, and it was lovely to host him. Since the beginning he showed a lot of interest in the project and engaged himself in the given tasks. He is a very skilled worker and helped Erlend a lot with different practical work in the house and outside. He is very respectful and is definitely a person you can trust. We had a lot of fun, shared meals and nice conversations. He is a quiet person and sociable at the same time, something that created a good balance in the house. Marvin is a great person and we will be happy to have him again in our farm :)

It was an absolute pleasure to stay with Pip in her gorgeous Irish house (which looks like from a magazine spread) in a stunning unspoiled rural part of Ireland. Being there was a fantastic break form living in a hustle and bustle of a big city. Pip is a very active person, an easy-going host always mindful of the people around her and a great advocate for the concept of workaway. The atmosphere during our stay was very relaxed and helped us learn how to live a less worrying life. Despite quite a remote location there were plenty of opportunities to both explore the local area and venture further away as giving us a lift to the nearest bus/train station or taking us to town was never too much trouble for Pip. We also had a chance to spend one nice afternoon with her friend and his lovely dog Coco. The tasks weren’t difficult with plenty of snack breaks. We’re glad we could help a bit with decluttering, making preserves, gardening and fixing a few things. Pip was always very grateful and appreciative of our work and although we were happy to embrace the Irish weather, she always made sure we didn’t stay out too long in the rain. If you’re looking for a stay in a tranquil location where you can observe birds having breakfast outside the kitchen window while enjoying yours, revel in the sight of a rainbow daily, snuggle up on a sofa in front of the fire in the evenings - this is the place for you. Thank you Pip 😊

It was such a pleasure hosting Flora, we loved having her here with us! She was very pleasant to talk to and we loved listening to her singing and playing the guitar in the evenings, she has an amazing voice. She was very respectful of our house rules and blended in perfectly. She helped us around the house with chores and guests and everything was done very precisely. She is self-initiative, reliant and hard working and on top of that, our cats loved her. She even did cat and house-sitting for us and that was greatly appreciated as we needed some rest and we had no problem trusting her with everything. We can only recommend Flora to other hosts and really hope to see her again in the future!

Kay spent three days with us. She immediately adapted to our pace and lifestyle. She is a very open person who understands what everyone needs with intelligence and sensitivity. With great ease and laughter, she shows us that any situation can be approached with humour. Kay managed, without knowing any French, to spend a long time with Anouk (who, in any case, has great difficulty articulating). She prepared an Asian meal for us with what she found in the fridge and tidied and sorted through a corner of the office that had been cluttered for over a year. She's amazing! She honoured our meeting with a prayer, showing great maturity. Thank you, Kay, for your visit and your open heart.

I had the most beautiful time at Victor’s. This time will forever stay in my heart as I met really wonderful people, rode horses and was able to show my appreciation through the meals I’ve created for him, his family and volunteers. All that Victor needs is help at home with cleaning and cooking and with walking girls to and from the bus. So I got the sense the more you take the initiative the better. He is always happy to share with you the eco farming knowledge, and it’s simply fascinating

Gina was motivated, helpful, and contributed a lot during her stay. She takes pride in her baking and made some delicious bread. She is open and likes to share her experiences, and we appreciated her honesty. She was a positive and supportive guest. Thank you Gina!

Laurent - a man of few words (unlike me!) but oh WOW...what an amazing guy! As far as I'm concerned he could have stayed forever... Nothing phased him. The ultimate maintenance man:) Very quickly he understood why and what I do here and was as happy to help on the land (picking olives and pruning trees and aloes) , painting the outside of the house as he was to help me clean up my workshop after an exhausting day of pottery students!! His confident independence was a real boon - we could happily work together and separately. I do hope he will come back one day...I really enjoyed his company. I miss having him here!!

My time in this place was simply perfect and better than I could have ever imagined. It was my very first WorkAway experience and Kevin and Clare made it one I'll always cherish! The place itself is a serene and tranquil Oasis and I really recommend you to look it up on TripAdvisor if you do not believe me. The area around may be rural but the plethora of hill forts, castle ruins and everything around Lough Gurare brimming with history and amazing views. The work to be done is extremely diverse and therefore never dull. Kevin keeps a fair work schedule and ensures enough breaks and great food. The accomodations are lovely and cozy, complete with your own modern bathroom. Kevin is a great and engaging conversationalist and working with him is a fountain of knowledgeon a range of different jobs and fields, making you feel welcomed at an instant. I do recommend that you are in the posession of a driver's license. I did not have one and sometimes the more distanced location was a bit of complication for me. While Kevin always offered to drop me off at Limerick, one would be a lot more flexible with one. So, overall, would I suggest you to spend your time abroad here? Absolutely! And I hope I will be able to spend some of my future stays abroad at this place again ^-^

We stayed at Richards and Sue's place for one week in early November, helping out with the Olive harvest. Richard is very easy going and we had good conversations while working together or sharing one of his great Indian dishes. We spent some time listening through his vast archive of rock music, this is definitely a great place for anyone keen on studying the history of rock music! Having a cold beer after work was also very nice!

I stayed with Tania and Robert for 3 weeks and I had a great time being there. I was feeding the animals, digging canals for water supply, harvesting olives and preparing the vegetable soil for spring. you only work during the morning so you have a lot of free time in the afternoon. They let us use there electric bikes so we could go to the mountains and the town of Horta more quickly! Nature is beautifull there and you can see a lot of wildlife! They made sure there was always food prepared 3 times a day! And they will ask you to cook your favorite meals aswell ;) We had interesting conversations. Robert has a lot of knowledge about birds, and Tania worked all over the world! There were also other amaeing workawayers who became my friends for life! All in all a very positive experience! Thank you Tania and Robert!

We enjoyed having Dante and Mallory as workawayers at our place. They always had a positive attitude and did great work in the field! They were always open to learn new things and were part of one of our first full house volunteer groups in our new mountain farm! Thank you guys so much for joining us and bringing your positive energy to the place! We wish you exciting travels! Take care!!

Oh Enrico! What a powerhouse! Enrico is never less than 110% hahaha, to have him in your project is suuuuch a plus and benefit! He is 110% commited, super excited and if you need some heavy labor to be done, Enrico is right there! He is so positive and sweet and smart...another one of our volunteers we were sad to see leave. Unfortunately, it always feels we didnt spend enough time together (running the two farms currently brings some challenges). But hopefully some day he ll come back to visit us and we ll exchange more ideas! Thank you Enrico for all your efforts! We really appreciated you and your enthusiasm!!! Safe travels!!

Staying with Zaki and his family was honestly one of the easiest and most comfortable experiences I have had while traveling. From day one, Zaki kept telling us to eat eat, and Yati’s cooking was unreal. It was the best food I have had in Malaysia, and I definitely ate more than planned haha. They were welcoming, relaxed, and made everything feel natural and comfortable from the moment I arrived. I also got to ride Zaki’s bike out to his farm where we picked fresh durians, and the off-roading experience made it even better. I met a few local Malay guys who were super friendly and easy to talk to, and hanging out with them felt natural right away. Overall, Zaki was generous, thoughtful, and genuinely kind. I am grateful for everything and I truly recommend staying here. I will definitely come back.

Volunteering here was genuinely one of the most wholesome and joy-filled experiences I have ever had. The community is honestly one of the best I have ever been part of and everyone, from the staff to the people who live there, makes you feel instantly welcomed, accepted and loved. I worked on CRM tasks, metrics for the school and held workshops with the Mamas who are the cutest and sweetest women you will ever meet haha. The management gave me full freedom to operate the projects my way, which made the work incredibly fulfilling. Watching the Mamas pick up new skills with so much excitement was honestly the highlight of my time. :) I also met so many wonderful people in the Laboma community who made each day brighter and gave me cultural experiences that felt completely genuine and unforgettable. The volunteers and I somehow turned every week into a fun little adventure as we planned trips together that always ended in plenty of laughs and inside jokes haha. A huge shoutout to Mama Jesca whose food deserves its own award and whose affection made her my mum away from home. Even during Tanzania’s political crisis the management supported us, kept us safe and helped us navigate travel plans with so much care. I recommend this place with my whole heart and honestly, words cannot describe this experience.

This was my first Workaway experience and it could not have been a better adventure. The owners/hosts (Naat & Bas) are kind, ambitious, caring and proud people, rightfully so. My initial plan was to stay for the peak-summer season but I ended up staying until early November, it was one of the best decisions I've made this year! Staying here you can expect a mix of regular work, amazing views of the Ardennes, community and great relationships with the owners, other workawayers and the locals who work. If you are prepared to work hard, have fun, have time for yourself and build connections with others; this is the place for you. Naat & Bas, thank you once again for all you've done, you have really built something amazing for the guests and the staff, you should be proud! Hope to see you both again.

Gernot and Grit stayed with us for 6 weeks during autumn and helped us enormously to catch up with the garden work and some construction projects. They are respectful and courteous guests who we really enjoyed having here. Gernot and I worked together on extending two roofs, building a blockwork storage shed, improving a concrete path and excavating a plunge pool. He was always positive, had good suggestions and worked hard. He has good tools skills and understands how to plan and execute a project competently. Grit worked mainly alone in the garden, taking cuttings, repotting plants, renovating a rockery, planting bushes and succulents and lots of weeding. She is very diligent and thorough and we feel very fortunate that she improved the garden so much in her time with us. Both Gernot and Grit are mature and self reliant whilst still being open, positive and friendly. We had good conversations and feel that we became friends. I hope we see them again.

I had a very nice stay with Erlend and Emilia. I was at their farm for 12 days and had a lot of fun with the tasks, that I was doing. They are very friendly and respectful and we had a great time together. I worked togehter with Erlend a lot, which was very funny and effective while Emilia kept the good mood with her delicious food and heart warming character. I wish them all the best and I hope that we will se again in the future :)

It was a really excellent experiece at Héloïses place: the flat is nice, airy, clean, fair and has a wonderful view in the beautiful big common gardens and further. It’s situated ideally: quiet and everything in town is within walking distance. Dol is just beautiful. We had a good time deepening her already good German, did some walks along that stunning coast, enjoyed nice games at the table but also we had interesting talks. Héloïse is a wonderful person, very sensitive and absolutely trustful. She cares great for the two lovely (and lucky) girls Keila and Azra. Thank you - hope to see you back in my town.

Alex and Jolina were great helpers. They were very responsible and had a lot of knowledge and skill handling all the horses, from the older ones to the foals. Both women are very competent riders. They were enthusiastic for all the tasks I asked of them, and followed directions as well as working independently and were able to work on their own without supervision. They kept the accommodation very clean and tidy and I would recommend them to any other hosts. Hopefully they will come back and see all the horses again!
