We really enjoyed Jon's visit. His positive and light energy made it easy to connect and feel comfortable right away. Jon was keen to be involved and helped with a variety of things, from re-potting citrus trees, planting succulents, tomatoes and basil to the ever-necessary weeding. He helped on his own for some of the week and was good at pacing
… read more himself and switching between tasks. He often helped a bit longer to finish what he was doing rather than stop because he had completed the required hours. Jon was active in his leisure time and it was a good feeling to have him around. We went for a few walks and more adventurous hikes together and had good conversations. He left everything clean and tidy and his visit was a pleasant and interesting time for us - including Herky the dog, who will miss Jon especially. I am sure Jon will be a valuable guest at his next workaway.

My time with Dominic and Corinne was a great and valuable experience. I spent 2 weeks here in April and already on the day of my arrival I felt very comfortable and welcome. … read more to have this lovely company of animals around. I had plenty of space to spread out in my little cave house which is beautiful from the in- and outside. The accommodation was probably the most luxurious one, I have enjoyed in my workaway history so far. Dominic is a very attentive host and made sure I had everything I needed.
My work consisted of preparing the garden for an upcoming season and was always well-communicated in advance. It was a pleasure to do gardening at this place because I was able to enjoy a beautiful view while I was working. The Days are clearly structured, so I was able to develop a daily routine. There is plenty of time in the afternoons and on days off to explore the stunning surrounding countryside. There is a beautiful and peaceful spot by the river where I enjoyed spending time in my hammock. And there is always something new to discover on adventurous walks. No matter where you watch the sunset from, it's always spectacular. There is a beautiful bench on the hill above the cave with a fascinating view. I spent many hours of being, reading and dreaming there. Considering all those circumstances, I felt like Samweis Gamdschie from LoftR sometimes.
Dominic is very open-minded and interested in people, and always willing to look at things from a new perspective. He has a great knowledge of living with self-sufficiency concepts and is happy to share his knowledge. It was very nice that Dominic and Corinne also shared their free time with me and that we went on hikes together. Also, the morning yoga with Corinne was a great start into the day, since she is a great teacher, and patiently with Beginner like me. Despite its remoteness, this place is full of possibilities and is a paradise for those seeking for peace, deceleration and closeness to themselves and nature. For me, a real friendship has grown with this place and I would love to return one day.

Davide is very helpful and a hard worker. He did a lot in the garden, weeding a lot and doing it very well. He also planted several bushes and flowers as well as taking cuttings for propagation. We harvested and processed plants and transplanted citrus as well as cleaning the greenhouse for the winter and preparing an outdoor area for

Davide was always energetic and positive and was the perfect work-away guest. We went for walks together and he also took Hercules, the dog, on walks on his own. He is courteous and friendly and easy to get along with and work with. I am sure that Davide will be valued by his next hosts.

The work was really great, we got to do many different things and Dominic is very good at communicating what he wants but he would also give us independence to carry the task on our pace. Most of the job we had to do was plant-related and we trully loved it. They also have so many exotic plants and it's so fun to watch them grow into this amazing and vibrant flowers. Ben and I stayed with Dominic and Hercules (the best dog ever) in the beautiful place for around 2.5 months Jan-March and loved every minute!! … read more cupboards were well stocked with delicious food and snacks. Dominic is a wonderful, genuine and super interesting guy and has some amazing stories; we always looked forward to an evening of sharing delicious home-cooked meals and stories together. We of course must also mention Hercules, who is the most amazing dog and a great snuggle buddy - we loved going for walks or just chilling in the beautiful sunshine with him almost daily.
Due to the time of year Ben and I were mainly involved in doing bits of manual labour and construction (the bench on the rooftop and parts of the waterway) and learnt lots on our way. Dominic was always very patient and flexible with plans, giving us the perfect amount of guidance as well as freedom in our tasks; we learnt so much and had a lot of fun in the process!
It was such an extraordinary and probably once-in-a-lifetime experience staying in a cave house, especially in such a beautiful part of the world. the perfect place for Workawayers who enjoy being in nature, having time to explore, get creative and unplug from the world to recharge your batteries. We cannot thank Dominic & Hercules enough for hosting us for what was an absolutely magically experience and cannot recommend them enough! Thank you both, for everything!

… read more This place is a great escape from the chaos of the modern world, without sacrificing modern comforts. The cave is a very unique living experience, and the region is strikingly beautiful and has such a rich ancient history. The property is surrounded by orchards and farmland which I was free to wander through, with incredible views of both sunrise and sunset, along with the "rush hour commute" of sheep herds. Though the property is set off the beaten path, the local village with essentials is within walking distance and larger towns with big shops and boutiques are a short drive away. The cave is also equipped with its own high speed internet connection, and plenty of space to work. Hanna stayed for almost 4 months, through the fall and into the winter season. … read more she helped with a some projects we had going and also looked after the house and Hercules, the dog, when I went away for a couple of trips. She also set up a custom LED grow light tower, helped in the garden, with clearing and preparing beds, collecting seeds and planting winter crops. About half way through her stay we modified our arrangement so she would buy her own food and so have more time for her own painting, setting up a really nice studio in her cave sitting room, where she got a lot done. Hanna became a fan of the incredible light here at sunrise and sunset as well as the rainbows!

… read more giant birds circled above. Passing through. Out the door and down the hill start the windy roads passng farms and sometimes running into sheep with friendly dogs. Many places to sit and nap and just be. From the edge of village walking along the river and less and less farms until I arrive at Badlands. Wild caves and bird nests. Catching sunsets on the way back. Cavehouse has everything and sometimes moonlight came in through the old chimney with the glass top. Dominic was helpful at every step and thoughtful with what I could do with ease. I'm thankful to be a part of spring at his home. This workaway experience was amazing! Dominic was a brilliant host! From the first day we felt welcome. First and foremost we have to mention the place of accomadation! It was fantastic! … read more bathroom! It is by far the best designed accomodation i have had to date, perfect for relaxing, writing and enjoying the free time. As advertised, Dominic is a fairly private person, so after work, it suited us to explore the surrounding area, of rivers amd mountains. Visually its really remote and beautiful, a fascination that led us to research the geology of the area just to understand how it looks like it does!)
That being said, weve really enjoyed Dominic's company, his vast experiences make for brilliant story telling. He really spoilt us with great meals, produce and extraordinary experiences. All in all, the work was very varied and fair and we've learnt a lot of andalucian building techniques too. His garden, or should we say future allotment of all varoeties of veg, was great to start planting.
