  Our story……..
  
  We started January 2024 a new company in Achouffe. The Famous Village from the Chouffe beer.
  After 20 years having a Brasserie / restaurant in Houffalize a village nearby , We started a Restaurant, Bar, Lounge, (small) Hotel, activity area, playground for small and big childeren and great big terras with really beautiful panoramic view.
  
  We are both from Holland. Nathalie (Naat) from Amsterdam and Bas from Rotterdam.
  We live here for 20 years. Our daughter Beau is born (in 2011) here.
  
  The spoken local language is French here but because we have people local and from all over the world (New zealand to Argentina to Spain to Holland, Italie etc) who work here we speak english together so everybody can understand.
  
  We are in the middle of nature on a Hill. And still have a busy and energetic company.
  Good and positive energy with willing to learn, from both sides, is very important to us.

  We are in a very small village but many tourist (175.000 per year) . So many social contacts there and our experience is that the people from Workaway combine good with the local people who work here. They learn even some french along the way.
  
  We experienced that our team, basic and workaway make their own community and we support that alot.
  
  If you come by car you have many posibilities to go to. It makes life a lot easier for you here.
  
  We are at the border of Luxemburg, Germany is 1 hour drive away, the Netherlands is 1,5 hour drive away and France is 1,5 hour away.
  We have many people from work away who explore (also with each other ) on their days off.
  Or they go into our beautiful nature that surrounds us here. In 5 minutes you are literally in the middle of the forest or on top of the hill.
  
  If you don’t have a car, a local bus (only early in the morning) can bring you to Houffalize, Gouvy train station or liege bus station, then from there you can go many ways. You just need to consider the hours then my daughter can help you with that.
  
  After the day, most of the time, all take a drink together to talk about the day, laugh or good conversations about life, ideas, background etc.We love good conversations especially when there is interest from both sides.

  I don’t know why, but i cannot put in HOSPITALITY / Tourism. But that is what we need!!
  
  We are looking for different cooperations from the beginning of April 2026 to November 2026.
  The minimum stay for us is 10 weeks.
  This is because everyone always needs time to settle in.
  We allow for a two-week " induction period " and we also want to create a good team spirit among our staff.
  We believe that this benefits our employees as individuals and, ultimately, our company too.
  
  *Serving in our restaurant and big terras (we place 250 people outside and 120 inside).
  - Experience with carrying trays and serving.
  -Experience with addressing guests.
  Think with us in improvements
  
  The next skill is an advance;
  -Experience with making drinks.
  
  *Experienced Bartender
  -Knowledge of drinks (not only in front of the bar ;) )
  -knowledge of basic cocktails (think Mojito, pina Colada... etc)
  -Fast worker
  
  *Chefs (experienced amateur chef / self-employed) for our kitchen;
  We require:
  -team player
  -English speaking
  -Demonstrable experience
  -product knowledge
  -preparation of mise-en-place
  -knowledge of kitchen cleaning
  -ability to work at a good pace
  -stress resistant
  
  *Runner / Dishwasser (this is also a team effort!)
  -Take plates to the tables
  -Make sure all tables are cleaned
  -Do the dishwas in the kitchen
  -Seperate food from plastic, carton and overall....
  
  *We could use help in the hotel regarding breakfast ( for guests 8:00-10:00 am) in the rooms (there are 8 rooms) changing towels and straightening beds (cleaning is done by a company).
  This is a side-occupation.
  Service and Kitchen our main priority!
  
  We need good experience and good flexibility in working hours and schedules.
  People who can adjust easily and go with the flow. Also in working schedule. We believe Communication is the key in this matter.
  We have a hardworking but sociable and good energy in the team, which we also find very important. Where everybody does everything from preparing to dish wash to serving (if needed!) . Yes even the “Chef “ sometimes. We believe in doing things together and not from a high hierargy.
  
  We are open 5 days (closed wednesday/ thursday) from 11 am till 10.00 pm .
  In the weekend and Holidays (from 17/7- 23/8 non -stop open or only closed on wednesdays) that is from 11 am till 11 pm.
  
  Your stay will be in a sperate living area of the hotel where you have your own (specious) room. We have 1 room with own bathroom and 5 with 2 community bathrooms.
  There is a community livingroom. You can use the kitchen upstairs for (cold ) breakfast where there is a fridge and freezer. You can use the kitchen from the restaurant to make hot food like lunch or diner on the days that we are closed. On open days we serve food for all workers in shifts which the kitchen team will make, or on busy days. somebody who volenteers.
  
  You will stay on a full pension base. So Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, coffee, tea, softs, water. We accommodate all allergies and desires such as gluten,vegetarian and vegan.
  
  On top of that we pay on a workaway base so you get payed every month. Salary and tip money.
  
  After you can get tax refund, hospitality fee and holiday fee. But the lasts fees are only if you stay minimum of 10 weeks.
  
  The first week we count on a 50/50 base because we need to learn you our company. This depends on your own experience. After the first week we withdraw 2 hours every day (so 7 days) for accommodation, food, drink, and gas/water/light/electricity.
  
  You yourself can increase your salary by helping with good energy, team spirit, commitment, initiative and maybe good ideas on behalf of the company and whole “picture”.
  
  We do expect some non paid “work” like when the supplier for the kitchen comes in, putting trash outside, clean your own room, bathrooms and living room etc etc.
  
  We always say we expect alot but we also give alot. It is a two way cooperation. And great respect on both sides.

  Acomodação

  We have 6 (specious) rooms. 1 has his own bathroom. We choose to give a couple their own bathroom as much as we can.
  The other 5 have 2 community bathrooms. 1 with a shower, 1 with a bath.
  
  There is a community livingroom, "Breakfast kitchen" upstairs, hot kitchen downstairs.
  
  We provide in breakfast, lunch and Dinner. So cereals or bread in morning and afternoon and Hot dinner.
  So 1 hot meal a day. If you prefer a hot meal with lunch that is fine by us.
  We buy gluten free, vegetarian and vegan if requested.
  We also do soft drinks, coffee, the and water.
  1 Alcohol drink only after work, so on your working days.
  
  Otherwise alcohol drinks are at your own costs and you have to get it from the super market.
  
  Sweets, chips etc you have to buy yourself and any special things you want you can get in Houffalize the village near us.

  The best way to come here is by car. If you don’t want to or not able to we have public services (but it is very restricted) and you can also rent a car in the village nearby (10 min from here) .
  
  Out of the saison and holidays we are closed wednesday and thursday (and sometimes also monday and tuesday) so you can plan whatever you want to discover those days and on free days.
  
  You can come alone, as friends or as a couple.
  
  Inside the hotel there is a no smoking policy. Outside all is fine.
  
  There is a gym and swimming pool nearby , 10 min by car or 30 min by bus.
  
  There are many activities to do in the area.
  
  We always love to give you any suggestions if you need and want.
  
  We love to help with anything or point out where you can go with car, bus or train.
  But we cannot take you out on free days. Our company and daughter takes up all the little free time we have.
  
  Bas goes to Houffalize minimum 3x a week early in the morning to the gym and is always willing to take you along. He stays there for 1,5 hour and goes back.
  
  We find good and honest communication, (real) honesty, respect, caring for , and interest in, each other are the most important things.
  We expect that from our selves but also from the people who come to us.
  Only then “we can move mountains” together as a team.
  The sky in energy is the limit.

  You can take only small pets that are trained. So not big dogs. And we need to do this in consultation. In case another housemate has allergy to animals.
