I couldn't have asked for a better first Workaway experience. Lucia created an environment that was both relaxing and enriching, always making sure that I was comfortable with working activities. Working itself was mainly about helping in the garden with weeding and trimming, which I found very therapeutic. Beyond the work, I truly valued the time I spent with Lucia and Piergianni. Shared meals and conversations were a true highlight of my stay. Lucia was also kind enough to show the local sights and sharing her insider knowledge on the best places to visit. The most lasting impression came from the moments of real connection and cultural sharing, which turned my stay into something truly special.

I spent 1 months there in September and it was a wonderful experience! 🌞 all of the team are really listening, kind and so happy. they will try to find a differents tasks, every day you do something different. and enjoy your free time with the other volunteer or even team members and guests ! you also have the opportunity to participate to the meditation and retreat I'll probably come back there one day because it's a really nice place and the best workaway that I did 🌞 thank you so much for this experience!

Ute was initially a mystery... A lone woman travelling the length of the Italian peninsula by motorcycle. She proved to be a strong, independent, open, intelligent, friendly and helpful WorkAway guest. She arrived with a smile and her energy level never waivered. We shared meals, projects, conversation, ideas and laughs. She shared the cooking and cleaning up and excelled in work ethic. Lucca misses the evening walks and special attention she received. Welcome her to your home/property and you will both be better by it. Thanks for coming and helping in so many ways Ute!!

For Sebas, we can only express words of gratitude—for the great work and effort he put in, as well as for the love he shared with all of us (members of our center, friends, collaborators, and the team). Very responsible, committed, hardworking, and at the same time kind, warm, fun, and with a big heart. His strong knowledge and experience as a carpenter, his willingness to help in our other activities, and his flexibility made the time we spent together a wonderful experience. Sebas understood our goals from the very first moment and shared our passion for the project. Thanks to the knowledge he passed on, our members are now able to create their own furniture, as well as everything we need for our center (which saves us a lot of time and money). His help is truly having a great impact. Personally, he has become a great friend. We stay in touch, and he continues to collaborate even from afar. We hope to have him back with us again very soon ❤️

Misugi was game to do everything and anything. She always showed up with the biggest smile and was such a hard worker! She is tiny but mighty!

Jeanne es una chica increíble, con una energía muy buena y contagiosa. Desde el primer momento en que llegó al proyecto, siempre estuvo alegre, curiosa y con muchas ganas de aprender y participar en todo. Tiene una actitud muy linda, siempre preguntando, interesándose, dispuesta a ayudar y a compartir. Además, cocina muy bien —voy a extrañar mucho su *pan perdido* y sus papas fritas—. 😋 Nos reímos muchísimo juntos; tiene un gran sentido del humor y una alegría que se siente en el ambiente. También salíamos a correr por las mañanas, algo que disfrutábamos bastante. Nunca la vi molesta; al contrario, siempre te recibía con una sonrisa y un “buenos días” lleno de buena energía. ☀️ Le encanta la naturaleza, cocinar y aprender sobre carpintería y jardinería. Con ella hicimos varias cosas muy lindas, como una mesa desde cero, ¡fue genial! Estoy muy agradecido por su paso por el proyecto, por su energía, su carisma, su alegría y esa buena onda que tanto se agradece. Ojalá pueda volver algún día. 🌿💫

We suspect Edie being secretly a fairy. She comes from Ireland and having her is like supernatural experience! There is nothing we can complain about - she works fast, smart, use common sence etc. Edie helped us with many tasks - beside other things carring heavy bags with animal food, babysitting (boys felt for her and thanks to Edie we were able to have a date night :),) and also she was keen to help with milking at 5 a.m. We could talk with her about anything ( and found out we have same taste for series and movies) - in general what a joy ! In the end we do not understand why she has not many feedbacks from other hosts. If Edie decide to visit you - please give her a big welcome hug becase she deserve it. :)

Holly, She was very helpful in assisting us with our learning English, and besides that, she is a very polite person and very willing to do the tasks. She proved to be very dedicated and very responsible with her duties. She spent time with some of our friends and they loved her too; without a doubt, it was a wonderful days having her with us, those will forever be etched in our memories. Thank you very much, Holly!!

I had the pleasure of staying with John for one month, and I had an amazing time! The rainforest where I was working is a fascinating and beautiful place. My work included digging, building roads, clearing an overgrown path, and much more. It is definitely hard work, so it’s important to know that before going. This experience is perfect for people with lots of energy who enjoy working with their hands. What I especially appreciated during my stay was the flexibility of the working days. For example, I was able to take a week off to visit Rio de Janeiro on my own. On top of that, John provided a LOT of food throughout my stay—it was like an all-you-can-eat experience, available 24/7 in exchange for the work. I also learned great stuff from John, not just about working on the property in the forest. He is incredibly knowledgeable, genuine, and approachable, and he always made sure to give plenty of breaks during work. He also took me on a tour, done by his company, where we went to see some really cool waterfalls. And the best: it was totally free for me. Otherwise it would had cost me a few hundred bucks. Overall, it was a really fun and rewarding experience, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who has energy, wants to explore Brazil, and is excited to work with their hands! 5/5 stars.

Ella describe en su profile que no tiene tantas habilidades manuales, pero SI QUE LAS TIENE, y sobre todo entusiasmo por hacer de su aporte algo memorable, dejo en mi hogar más que ayuda palpable, muchas risas y energía de la buena, si que voy a extrañar las laaaargas charlas con ella. Es muy responsable, y buena compartiendo el espacio con los demás, éramos varios en casa (Gerald, Diego, Nik) y todo fue muy armónico. Podría haber disfrutado de su compañía Más de un mes sin duda. ❤️‍🔥 Te extraño desde el día uno Lydia!!! Eres maravillosa y amo tu risa Fuerte! Nunca cambies eso!

Gavin was my first host and he showed me how cool and exciting a Workaway can be. Gavin is super cool and chill, and he made me feel welcome from the very first day. I stayed for about 1 1/2 months and enjoyed every single day of it. The work was fair, the atmosphere was relaxed, and I always felt appreciated. I also went on many walks with Froggie — she is truly unforgettable and made my time there even better. Thank you, Gavin, for making my first Workaway such an amazing experience. I couldn’t have asked for a better host!

Hi Thomas, it was my pleasure to have you at home. You have given me a great hand even in a few days. You speak about garden but I remember of you each time I manage to turn on the light in the garage :) So it was a nice meeting, a very good exchange and I finally find you a very kind, polite and wise person. Dan is one of the best hosts you'll find, he's very understanding and a nice person.Has great advice to know Montreal at its fullest and also he is a traveler and a polyglot himself so he also has amazing histories, definitely a great person and dad. The kids are social, energetic, smart and easy going making a nice experience to be arround and help arround the house. I had a great time in Montreal thanks to Dan and his family.

Kim and Bill are such a wonderful couple and had they not stayed in the middle of Summer when we were at our busiest we would have loved to spend more time with them. When we did they were warm, friendly and funny and great company. Bill was passionate about looking after our Olive and fruit trees and they are in a much better condition than before they arrived which is fabulous. It was an extremely hot 3 months when they were with us and so more difficult to do some of the work we wanted doing but hey maybe another time plus we weren’t up there much to show them what we wanted them to do. It’s great to have a long stay as you feel relaxed at letting people just get on with it and enjoy their space. Kim and Bill have such an adventurous nature and live a wonderful life of travel and adventure. How fabulous x

It was such a great experience, everybody was friendly and warm, I felt like in a second home. I was there 1 month and the time was flying so fast. Carlos and Cynthia were very nice hosts, I can highly recommend to stay in this place. I would come back anytime to this place.

It was great having Kevin and Ella staying at our place in the forest. They were self sufficient and hard working and although we didn’t see much of them as we were so busy on our other projects it was wonderful to know they were just able and capable to just get on with the tasks at hand and to enjoy their time on our little plot of paradise . Also they were great with communication and very friendly.

Between work, shared meals, and good, interesting conversations, your presence in our daily lives was a real joy. You helped us in many ways, and you also left us with some magnificent photos. We wish you many discoveries, wonderful encounters, and inspiring surprises on this long journey, of which we were lucky enough to be your first destination. And if the universe has any beautiful things in store for us, one of them would be to see you again one day on that island lost in the middle of the ocean.

I spent 12 days with Claudia and Volker. The work was mainly in the garden: collecting leaves, trimming plants and trees, and moving the composter to another location. When the weather was bad, I did a bit of cleaning in the guest garden house. Volker picked me up at the bus stop around 9 p.m., and when he went shopping, he also brought me whatever I needed. During my stay, Claudia brought me some of her baked goods to taste. They were always very delicious. The couple likes their peace and order, so there are several rules that need to be followed. There are hiking trails nearby. On weekends, there is a fresh market open, a 45-minute walk away (great coffee there with the best service :-)). Thank you for the warm welcome, and I wish you a wonderful time on Isla Bonita.

We absolutely loved hosting Solene! She was a fantastic volunteer. Very motivated, positive, and a pleasure to have around. She practiced her Spanish and even helped with French, which added a fun and educational element to her stay. In the garden she was incredibly hardworking, taking on everything from weeding and mulching to harvesting fruits and even cutting coconuts. She also helped prepare meals and brought great energy to our evening games. She is very good at UNO so be careful :) Communication with her was always easy, and she has a wonderful sense of humor that made daily life more enjoyable. She fit in perfectly here, and we would welcome her back anytime. Highly recommended to any host!

After some challenging times, the organisation is now in a growth phase and shows significant potential. It is based in a nearly central part of Arusha and benefits from good premises, it is rooted in the local community. Daniphord, who runs the organisation, is a very kind and intelligent man. He has a good sense of humour and intellectual curiosity, that made for many stimulating conversations on a wide range of topics. He is genuinely open to new ideas and values any contribution a volunteer can make to help the organisation grow. Consequently, this Workaway is ideally suited for proactive individuals who know how to structure their own work independently. It will work best for those who are self-motivated, rather than for volunteers who expect to be given a predefined list of tasks to carry out. I dealt with a number of things , like writing a SWOT analysis and strategy, contacting other organisations to explore potential partnerships, producing graphic material, advising about website's improvement. The family that hosted me was simply great, very welcoming and warm, made me feel at home. You will be able to walk to Arusha center in just 20 minutes. That's all folks, enjoy!
