Description

Hey, I'm Laura.

I come from a small town in the west of Germany, where I finished school last summer and am now travelling around Canada for a year.

Surrounded by forests and fields, I've always loved exploring nature or jogging along the nearby river. There is hardly a day that I am not outside, maintaining our small garden or keeping our dog on the go. Then about a year ago, I decided that I wanted to share this love for animals and nature, which is why I am a member of Greenpeace for three years now. I am vegetarian and try to avoid animal products as much as possible in my private life (but I am not too strict about this).

Moreover, my everyday life is marked by many books, music, art, meditation and sports. For me, there is hardly anything more beautiful than sinking between the lines of a novel or expressing myself in paintings or poems. My fascination for language (besides my mother tongue German also for English and French) finally brought me to writing, so that I could already write some texts in the context of a writing club.
I also spend a lot of time at the climbing gym, dance school or on the yoga mat, where I can indulge my passion for movement and clear my head.
If the day is then rounded off with a cozy evening of games with the family, the day was perfect.
My wanderlust has also taken me to many different countries, such as Austria, Brazil and Israel, where I have had unforgettable experiences. Discovering new cultures, meeting great people and exploring all the wonderful places on earth - I will never get enough of that. If I can make my own small contribution to the preservation of our planet, all the better!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

In the recent years I was able to get some experience as a tutor for students, as a supervisor of a school reading club and recently as a sales associate in an outdoor sport retail with close contact to costumers.

I also know what it means to help out with physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions, because I was already allowed to help out for two weeks on a farm in Germany and recently on Vancouver Island. I always notice how rewarding it is to be physically active while working and how liberated you feel after a hard day.

When it comes to work, there is hardly anything that doesn't interest me.

  I am a vegetarian. Mostly I try to avoid any animal products but I am not a strict vegan, so both vegan or vegetarian is okay with me. Let me know if that’s an issue :)
