My staying at Oier's finca was just AMAZING!! I've spent one month in this paradise, and my only regret was not staying longer. The finca is surranded by nature, with an incredible ocean view, which makes it a quiet and peaceful place. It's not far from the center of Tinajo (about 25/30 min by walking from the supermarket), but I still raccomend renting a car to explore and enjoy the rest of the island too. The working hours are not heavy and the activities you can do are really many and different. In addition, you'll have your flexibility in managing working hours according to your needs. And what about the host? Well Oier is simply the best. From day one, he welcomed us with open arms and gave us complete confidence. He is very open, helpful, respectful, always ready to give you a hand in case of difficulties. With him you can talk, work well, but above you can laugh! And its animals are the purest. I could not mention the two sweetest dogs ever, Osa and Cito, or the two special cats, Paco and Arturo, as well as, of course, all his chickens! Whether this is your first, last, third or fiftieth workaway, I highly recommend Oier's finca. Thanks for everything Oierito, I hope to see you again soon :)

Such a pleasure to have Juan. An all round great person, happy to help with anything. Juan took our guests surfing and did a great job. Easy to get along with, good with guests and just fitted right into our surf house family. Juan would be asset to your business and we would welcome him back to our surf house at anytime.

What an absolute pleasure it was to have Bella. We would highly recommend her, warm, bubbly and just the most loveliest person. We already miss her so much around the Surf House. Bella took our guest for surf lessons and did an excellent job. We can't wait to have her come back at some point. She became a part of our family.

Lander is an excellent worker, he stayed with us 10 days, works independent and understands well when expained what to do. He will ask if he is not sure, which i sooo appreciated. We spend 2 months in this place with Diego (dog) and Luna (cat). Communication with Chiara was easy. Surroundings are amazing, a lot of mountains and lakes. It was a little bit cold because of winter but it didn't affect good impression of staying here.

Maike was exceptional in every task we gave her. Her organizational skills and steady work ethic were the driving force in helping us get our home life sorted. She worked well with the other work away that we brought in and also was great with our kids. She laughed at most of my cheesy jokes and was enjoyable to have around at the dinner table and the fire. I can’t say how much of blessing she has been to have as a Workaway, she and the other Workaway made such a huge difference in our lives in less than two weeks. Maike is welcome back on our homestead anytime and I would highly recommend her to anyone considering having her stay with them.

Isy & Toni were an amazing asset to our centre whilst they were here for the past month. They helped mainly with getting the raised beds in the vegetable garden ready for vegetables and then planting seeds and seedlings. This entailed digging, forking collecting manure and barrowing away the briar that had taken over the garden. They also helped reorganise and move the tool room from on place to another so that we can start to develop our bedroom for disabled artists in residence. Toni is an excellent organiser and she helped with organising the towels and bed linen in the Laundry and with putting up signs to help us all keep the place running smoothly. Isy worked happily on any task she was asked to do and she brought a calm freindly presence to the centre. I miss them already - They are both beautiful humans. They also pitched in with cooking on a regular basis and made some lovely dishes on the last day Isy made scones with another workawayer and she even made some gluten free ones for me. Thank you both

Kristen joined us at the last minute and was a great addition to the team. Our guests loved her and she was happy to do whatever asked of her with enthusiasm! Welcome back next time you're in the UK :)

Xenia stayed with us for 3 weeks, we wish she could stay longer! She is an excellent girl, very polite, co-operative, always cheerful and happy and interested in learning new things. A very hardworking person with a great working discipline to take on a project and continue until it is complete. We really enjoyed our time with Xenia and we miss her very much. Thank you Xenia for your help and a nice time together. We hope to see you again some day.

We had a great time at this workaway and have many good memories from our time here. The property was lovely and we enjoyed hanging out with the 7 dogs. Most of our daily work involved painting a new building on their property. Juan and Carolina let us work independently, but if we had any questions or needed anything, they would help out. One of our favorite parts of the experience was that we were able to get to know Juan's family (they came over for dinner almost every day) and other neighbors that worked on the property. Everyone was kind and inviting. We were able to take affordable Ubers to further explore the area. This would be a great experience for workawayers who enjoy a more chill pace of life and prefer to work independently. Thanks Juan and Carolina for the lovely time!

I have made my first workaway experience in the farm of Pam and Kevin and it was really nice. They were very welcoming and careful with me. They want people to feel at home, and it works! The animals are lovely, it's a pleasure to feed them. The work is not too hard, tasks depend on their needs. It was really pleasant to share the meal with them because they discuss about a lot of different subject. Thanks for this nice discovery and I will maybe come back with pleasure.

As my first time in Workaway I must say that staying at Cate and Nico's was a really delightful and utmost enjoyable experience. Being part of the family while able to help in day-to-day tasks was fun, specially since I got to spend time with the girls which were playful and open to a new argentinian on the house! Thanks to Nico I got to learn about the basics on working and maintenance in a household organic farm. I was also really lucky as they held some musical events while I was there, which gave me the opportunity to help in the preparations and also participate with my own art! Nico's cooking is superb and because of this at times I felt like I was being treated like a prince in a royal house. They were also really attentive to my needs and times. I will be forever thankful to them for this unique oportunity I was given.

Gracias!

Koji and Misuzu stayed at our place for one week and we really had a great time with them. They are hard worker and helped with fence building, cooking and others. They were very curious and entousiast about Belgium culture, gastronomy and of course beers. On top of it, they are really friendly with the kids.

I spent 2 weeks with Aziz, harvesting the grapes and completing the process of wine making. I learnt a lot about the process, it was super interesting. Aziz is a kind person who takes care of its « kids » (aka us, volunteeers). I really liked our cooking sessions as well, where everybody could make a suggestion on what to cook for dinner. The work is easy and the working days are light, usually from 8h to 12h/13h. In the afternoon, everyone is free to do what he pleases and in the night, Aziz takes us to have a beer in town or we cook together and spend the night playing cards and discussing about every topic. I really had a great time at the finca !

Sheila was an absolutely wonderful host. She was very kind and made me feel right at home. She and I spent many of our meals talking about a wide variety of topics. I enjoyed her company immensely. I stayed with her and the gentle and loving cats she cares for for 2, almost 3, weeks. Sheila was very welcoming and made sure I had enough experiences around her town. She's well established in the town (as she should be) and has many stories to tell. After taking on the responsibility of caring for the town's cat population, this has been her purpose and it's inspiring to think that she's been doing it for over 17 years now. She's a very wonderful and powerful woman to stay with. Work wise, she asks for maximum of 4 hours and many days it only really came to 2 or 3 depending on the efficiency. Normal tasks include litter trays, mopping, and bleaching the floors if there is lots of spraying incidents. You should try your best to help out as much as possible while staying here because there is always something to do. Sheila and her daughter Lisa were very gracious and took me for pizza, I visited a local winery with them, and joined them on grocery outings as well. They made sure I saw plenty of the local and surrounding areas. I wouldn't have left the commune if it weren't for them. It is a beautiful location and I truly enjoyed spending my days basking in the sun with the company of her lovely cats. If you would like to do some exploring, there are trails that wrap around Parodi, there is also plenty of surrounding communes and towns to visit, plus Genoa is a train ride away. There are plenty of options around. If Sheila opens up her place again for Workawayers to help, please make sure you're not taking advantage of this woman's kindness. She does a lot and asks for nothing in return but a few hours of work a day. If you're there working with cats make sure you like the cats!!! I can guarantee that they'll become your best friends if you are open to them. Thank you for everything Sheila, you hold a very special place in my heart and a special memory of this journey I'm on.

I had such a wonderful time with Susanne, Mike and all their wonderful animals! They are such kind and welcoming people who really made me feel like part of the family. They have a beautiful property and they're animals are so lovely! Sassy and Bubbles (and Romeo) the horses, Piggy the Pig and of course the pets, Logan the dog and Blacks the cat were all so friendly and loveable! I got to go with Susanne to a couple of her riding lessons and even watch a obstacle riding clinic. We also went down to their property near the beach and walked on the beaches, played scrabble and got some fish and chips! They took me out to see local places and I got to see some amazing wildlife both on the property and while visiting local areas! We often sat around chatting after meals and Susanne and Mike have so many interesting and funny stories to share. For work I mostly helped with gardening jobs and sometimes with the horses or pet sitting when needed. Nothing too strenuous and they always made sure I wasn't overdoing it and tiring myself out. The food was all vegan and was very delicious! They always made sure I had enough to eat and never went hungry! I hadn't really eaten much vegan food before but everything they made was very good, especially Mikes pizzas and Susanne's spinach triangles! :) I would love to come visit them again some day and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a relaxed and very welcoming stay in beautiful surroundings.

We spent a very nice month with Lydia. Lydia is lovely. Kind, authentic, easy going, calm, interesting and interested. She delighted us with delicious dishes and amazing cinnamon and caradamom buns! She helped us a lot with all with the maintenance of the garden, mowing the lawn, sowing the seeds, doing the finishing of the green house, working the land, planting trees... She was always doing everything consciously and nicely. She is a quick learner, observing and finding her way to adapt to any new situation. It was really easy to work together and share the daily activities. We would be glad to host her again!
