Your initiative, reliability, and the way you took on every task — whether it was helping with the animals, going on walks, or simply stepping in wherever needed — really stood out. And let’s not forget the great chats and laughs — your company brought such a good energy, and honestly, the whole place felt brighter and lighter with you in it, even on rainy days. You tackled everything with a heart and a smile, and we noticed — every bit of it. Thanks for bringing such good vibes and taking on whatever came your way with such care. Thanks for giving us the chance to be your first workaway-experience and we’re excited for whatever comes next for you. My experience in Pacho was amazing! Amalia is such a great and loving host. She treats you like your mother and from the first moment you will feel at home. Her food is delicious and you have your private room and a guest bathroom just for you. Her family which are also her neighbours are so welcoming and they pampered me. Since they have a restaurant nearby I went there several times and they thought me how to make the best empanadas of colombia! The school and all the kids are so cute! I was almost crying when I needed to say goodbye to them. It's a rural school from a neighbourhood nearby and there are 8 kids from the ages of 5 to 11 years. They are very motivated to learn english and in the breaks or after the class we played in the playground or on the soccer field. Pacho is very calm and safe so you can walk around at any time without beeing worried. I hiked a lot in the region and did a bike tour with Amalias neighbour. The nature is amazing and the views are lovely. It's easy to reach the city since there is a taxi service from the Portal Norte in Bogotá which brings you directly to the city and costs more or less the same like taking the bus. I highly recommend this volunteering position. It was one of the best experiences in my 6 months of travelling and there is really nothing I can complain about!!!

Our family had such a great time with Florian, Marie and their family on their peaceful patch of earth in Portugal. Florian is so generous with his knowledge, insights and time. It was so nice to exchange stories and theories with Florian and Marie about home, travelling, growing things and life in general! Our kids all had a wonderful time playing together, for hours and hours on end.. Our daughters were rapt to meet other kids with such a big appetite for active, outdoor fun. Florian had thoughtfully told us about a Medieval Festival taking place nearby, so we met them and some of their friends there before joining them at the farm. During the week we learnt how to milk goats, and helped out with moving the goats, some clearing, looking after the chickens, and with some firewood and fencing. Florian is wonderful to work with, giving clear instructions, interesting explanations and knowledge around what we're doing, and was always very gracious. We enjoyed all the conversations, the games of Werewolf and our shared meals. This time in Portugal will always be one of our cherished memories, and we really hope that we will have the pleasure of hosting one or all of this beautiful family back in New Zealand one day!

Stephane est resté à peu près 3 semaines avec nous et s'est de suis bien intégré à la famille! Il a su aider les enfants avec leur cours de français, aider Raoul aux multiples tâches (toutes variées et parfois en passant de la scie aux fourneaux!) Une très belle expérience pour nous tous! Nous recommandons Stephane sans hésitation!

I had an amazing time with Pernille, Sven, Isa and Alex. They are a lovely family who made me feel very welcomed in my first workaway experience! They are a busy family but they will always make the effort to chat over meals and bring you along to activities where it's possible. I did yoga, played padel tennis and basketball. The home is beautiful and spacious, and located a short bike ride from town and a beach. The chores were not difficult and Pernille was great at communicating expectations and clarifying anything that I was unsure of. They are a busy family during the week, so if you need to be around people all the time this is something to keep in mind. However, if you have been travelling and would like to slow down and have some alone time you will get the opportunity for this, which I appreciated. I highly recommend this workaway to anyone, especially first time workawayers. Thank you so much for having me 🩷

Giovanni and Tayo were such a beautiful couple that helped move through a lot of things. The are both hard workers and great at DIY and what they don't know they are keen to learn and crack on with independently and with care. Giovanni was really calm and showed alot of care and flexibility. Tayo felt so much older than she is and had so much wisdom and knowledge- Both worked well as a team and got alot done in a short space of time. Both kept theirselfs fit with running and exercise and this was good to witness and not long after helped me get back into running- thanks guys. Food was great also with a variety of dishes made. Great team to have on board for any project . Hope your both well :) xx

Grant a été ma toute première expérience sur Workaway et honnêtement, je n’aurais pas pu espérer mieux ! L’accueil a été chaleureux, Grant est attentif et très reconnaissant de l’aide qu’on lui apporte. Même avec la barrière de la langue, la communication était fluide et nous avons eu de très beaux échanges. Je recommande vivement d’essayer le cours de self-défense dont il est le professeur : c’était une super expérience ! Grant est une personne formidable, je le recommande à 100 %

Clarisse is just an angel! She took every job with a good attitude and a smile. We got to do quite a few of outdoor tasks together, which were always followed with a nice chat and lots of laughs. She was very helpful with everyday household tasks as well and had a great relationship with out cats too. While writing this review, I realised that we didn't end up making poutine, which means.. we hope to meet you again someday (and enjoy some poutine together)!

Stefano and his farm/garden was my first Workaway volunteering experience. I stayed with him for two weeks. There were four of us: me, Stefano, his friend Juan, and another volunteer from the US. I think we made a really good team. At Stefano’s, work is from Monday to Saturday. Every morning at 9 a.m. we discussed the tasks for the day, and we usually worked until around 2 p.m. Sunday was the day off. The location is amazing for all kinds of hikes in the area. Stefano has a large garden full of vegetables and fruit, as well as chickens, dogs, and cats. The work was very diverse: in the garden, with wood, with vegetables, and so on. Stefano is truly an amazing cook. I had a small, cozy private room on the ground floor. I had a really great time there and learned a lot. Sometimes communication was a bit of a challenge, but also because my English is not so strong. I definitely recommend staying with Stefano if you are looking for peace, conversations, and the chance to learn something new. I would just like to add that my personal comfort was affected by the fact that the level of cleanliness in the house was a bit lower than my standards. So, thank you very, very much for everything we experienced together, and I wish you many happy volunteers and wonderful moments. Ciao!

oh thanks so much axel and moss for your flexibility, fun and hard work. we were so grateful for you both coming to stay and be part of. The work you did from carrying a massive table to mosaics in the rain will always be remembered as part of what created the project and space- I'm truly grateful . Moss is a fantastic artist on many levels and can apply her creativity to so so much. We both started a mosaic project- which takes so long- however with Moss's help it got started and its looking great. Moss is caring and hard working and has many talents to bring to a project - thanks moss- keep singing and being creative- x Axel was amazing with my daughter- really helping her through a tough time and giving her space to be- really appreciated that axel and so did she- i think you might have a gift working with youth . Axel also really helped in many DIY areas and if he did not know he learnt really quickly and was great at learning on the job. Thanks axel and both were great at adapting to change ( last min) and being with the dogs which adored them . Wishing you both a fantastic journey in life- go well guys xx

Nous avons été très heureux d’accueillir ces deux merveilleux couples accompagnés de leur petite fille de 6 ans, Stéphane, Lorette et la petite princesse Camille :) Ils sont pleins de joie, de gentillesse et d’énergie positive. Ils ont très bien travaillé avec les enfants du centre, apportant bonheur, patience et dévouement dans chaque activité. Un mot spécial pour Lorette, une grande artiste peintre, qui a eu la gentillesse de réaliser un magnifique portrait de ma mère. 🎨 Nous avons beaucoup apprécié leur aide, leurs sourires et l’amour qu’ils ont partagé avec tout le monde ici. Nous leur souhaitons plein de bonheur et de succès dans leur parcours, et nous espérons les revoir un jour. ✨ Ils seront toujours les bienvenus dans notre centre et dans notre maison

We spent three fabulous weeks with Tony and Finn. They are sensitive to people, attentive, respectful, and adorable. We had fun working for them. The meals were divine. The atmosphere was like being with family. There was also lots of music and humor. We also discovered this little-known and absolutely incredible region. We hope to see you again very soon!!!

I spend 6 weeks (Aug/Sept) with Christine at her lovely home, and I had a great time! Feeding the chickens, watering the plants, harvesting, and lots of time spend in the kitchen preparing great food. I stayed in a very cozy room and the property is quiet and beautiful. I also had the opportunity to watch some of the shooting for the film production Christine is working on, which was fun and very interesting. Christine is a great person, very open and friendly and really creative. Work and hours were more than reasonable. If you're able to work independently and don't mind spending time by yourself, this is a perfect place. Thanks so much Christine!

Irina stayed with us for three months in Madrid, and from the very beginning she felt like part of our family. She is truly a lovely person — warm, thoughtful, and always bringing a positive energy into the house. She connected beautifully with our daughters, playing with them, helping with routines, and being wonderfully patient and kind. They adored spending time with her, and we know they will miss her very much. She was also a great help around the house, always ready to lend a hand with cleaning and daily tasks. Outside the home, we went on runs and workouts, and even some adventures around Madrid, which made the time together even more fun. It was not easy to say goodbye, and we would highly recommend Irina to any future host. She will bring joy and support wherever she goes.

This was my first experience with Workaway, and to be honest, I never expected it to go so wonderfully. Right from the start, after sending my initial message, I received a reply suggesting a FaceTime call, and by the end of the day, I already knew I could go ahead and book my tickets. Jeroen and Seraina are an amazing couple who create a warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel like part of the family. Even though working on the boat isn’t always easy, there’s so much to learn from them — and they’re also open to hearing about your own experiences. Even when I did something incorrectly, they would calmly and kindly explain how to do it properly. (They truly have incredible patience!) Both of them are very open-minded. Jeroen is someone who seems to have seen just about everything the world has to offer and is always happy to share his stories. Seraina is a wonderfully warm, kind, and optimistic person who faces everything with a smile and no barriers. Together, they make a fantastic team. This adventure is something I would recommend to absolutely anyone — it was a truly unforgettable experience that I’ll always look back on fondly. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you to finish this challenging project and sail around the world! Mateusz

I spent a month here in Casablanca and had a wonderful time! Sara, Linda, Hasna and Kolta all ensured that all the volunteers were warmly welcomed and looked after. The school is situated in a hustling area of Casablanca and with my time off, I was able to take trips to cities such as Chefchaouen, Tangier, Rabat and Fes as well as visit Casablanca attractions. The students were all so lovely and I have learned so much about Moroccan culture from my time here. Thank you again to the team and I hope to see you all again ❤️

I had a wonderful experience during my three weeks with the organization. From the very first day, I always felt welcomed and comfortable. Mama Jessica was always there for us with anything we needed, and she is truly a beautiful person, both kind and supportive. All the members of the organization were always there for any kind of help and made our stay meaningful. These weeks will remain a very special memory for me. I also want to give special appreciation to the teachers in the schools, who were always eager to learn new games and teaching methods to use with the children. The kids themselves were so inspiring and working with them was such a joy and an unforgettable experience. I am deeply grateful for everything I learned here, for the warm atmosphere, and for all the wonderful people I had the chance to meet. I truly hope to come back one day.

My friend Phoebe and I stayed with Morgan, Giorgia, their son Dylan and friend group including Rosario, Tano, Alessandro, Rhiannon at the meeting ground of their big family (Morgan and Giorgia's house). From the moment we arrived, we felt instantly at home. The atmosphere was very relaxed and everyone was very open and friendly. Apart from a rest day and a night spent at their countryside house, the routine consisted of free coffee and breakfast, then helping with house duties, such as cleaning dishes and tidying, then a delicious lunch and later, dinner prepared by Giorgia. These home cooked meals were not only special because of how good they tasted, but because of how we ate them. I loved the routine of talking before and after sharing a meal with the people in this group. The night would often end with guitar and drumming sessions with Alessandro and Rosario and the rest of us sitting around them, sometimes joining in. Overall, the work was very chill and I’m really glad to have met these people.

My experience with Christine and Joachim was wonderful. Through a video call we agreed that one month of volunteering would be enough time for me to integrate into their daily life, and that was indeed the case. I learned a lot from both of them, not only from the daily tasks of construction and caring for the goats, but also from their personalities. They are very kind, and I always felt well integrated, while also learning a bit about German culture. They are tireless workers, yet they know how to value rest and breaks; likewise, they always respected the agreed working hours and days per week. I could always count on their support in my plans to explore the region and visit other places during the weekends. I fondly remember the interesting conversations we had. It is also nice to know that the exchange was reciprocal, and I was able to share a bit of Latin culture, mainly through music, dance (and some cooking). I was very happy to see that Christine and Joachim, together with their daughter and granddaughter, were open to discovering and experiencing a small part of my culture.
