Our stay at Cathies and Colin's place was just great. Lokated in beautiful nature, they took us around the area to amazing places, introduced us to their first nation friends and spent super nice evenings and relaxed mornings with us. We were allowed to just do what we felt inspired to do in the garden, splitting wood or helping with building new stuff with simple tools. They were very generous with everything and we are very grateful to have stayed there for some days! Thank you for the wonderful time and the interesting stories and conversations. ✨🙃

Aneta is a wonderful human. She radiates light and smiles and giggles. Aneta is easygoing and cares. I would highly recommend hosting her. You will not regret having her with you. Fair winds Madame. I'm sure we will see you again some day :)

I stayed with John from the end of July until mid-August and had a really good time there. He made me feel welcome from the beginning, and living in the French countryside with him was a very different experience from my usual life. Our biggest project was working on the shutters, along with quite a lot of gardening and other jobs around the house. I also discovered that I now have a personal enemy in France: pampas grass 😂. The work gave me the chance to learn and try things I normally wouldn't do. I really enjoyed sharing meals with John and just talking about random things, life, travel and whatever came up during the day. I also appreciated having my own room, good Wi-Fi and enough space to do my own things when I needed to. John has a lovely place in a very peaceful part of France, and I think this would be a great Workaway for someone who enjoys countryside life, practical projects and spending time with their host. Thanks for having me, John, and for making me feel at home during my stay!

I stayed here for 14 days and it was a great experience!!! I love the house and the dogs and Anna and Stephen. It was so fun to cook and prepare food for myself and also to explore the coastarea. I would definitely come back. The work is very fair

We enjoyed Samuels company . He an interesting young man. Very reliable, responsable, conscientious and social. He is very mature for his age. He is always respectful.He did gardening, basic general maintenance , cleaning, and easily socializes with other volunteers. He often would initiating activities with the other volunteers . He is always welcome here.

We were super happy with Valentin's help this July! He was ready to crack on with one of the most challenging tasks, namely to get the last stones out of the basement and prepare the floor for concreting. It was a rather intense period at the lighthouse with lots of people and activities going on and frankly, a bit chaotic. But he nevertheless seemed to find some peace of mind and focused on the task ahead. He was all smiles and chill and spread good mood with his warm humor and singing. Can warmly recommend Valentin to other hosts!

I had a really nice experience staying with the family, as I felt very welcome and comfortable throughout my stay. It was my first Workaway experience, and Mareike was always kind and helpful. She explained every task clearly and accurately, and everything was very well organized. There are always many different tasks to do, so it’s never boring. I had the chance to learn many new things that I had never done before, and I also really enjoyed cooking for everyone and sharing meals together. It was a lovely experience. I loved the outdoor lifestyle, and I’m leaving with many good memories of the house and the island

My experience at Violeta's house was great! She lives in a paradise - surrounded by nature in a typical Tuscan landscape. At first we needed some time to get to know each other and understand each others needs and ways of communicating things, but I feel like after a couple of days we were getting on pretty well. Violeta is a a kind person and a caring host. She really cares for your diet and safety (for example Violeta helped me with my sunburns with her own aloe straight from the garden). She is also an excellent and creative cook and was very supportive of my vegetarian diet. She made her own plant-based milk, homemade bread and delicious falafels. Violeta cooks really healthy too! Violeta’s house is in a very quiet, secluded spot in the Tuscan countryside (the closest neighbour is about a 20‑minute walk away), so the location is quite remote and not very well connected. This means you’re a bit dependent on your host if you want to explore the area, but Violeta was kind enough to take me to the sea and to the closest city – Livorno. She also picked me up from the airport and took me to the station on my way back, so it's all manageable. The amount of work that Violeta required was fair and I had a good balance of working and having fun. Violeta's house is also a great place when you just want to be alone with your thoughts away from people. Violeta, thank you very much once again for hosting me :)

Juliette was an absolute pleasure to have in my home. She was here for around 2 weeks. She did an tremendous job around the place and honestly was a part of the family by the second day. She tried absolutely everything without complaint that was asked of her and had a great attitude around the animals. Thanks Juliette for everything and hope to see you soon again!

Billie stayed with us for a few days, and I really enjoyed her company. She is good-humoured and easy to get along with, and we connected very well. We even went on a wonderfully impulsive night out together, which will be one of my favourite memories from her stay. Billie was also a great help around the house. She helped me organise my bedroom, weeded the garden and got stuck into the vacuuming too. I particularly appreciated how polite and mannerly she was around my daughter, who is at quite an impressionable age. Although her visit was short, it was certainly memorable, and I’m glad we had the opportunity to meet.

I spent a lovely 10 days staying with Aoife! It was a great first experience! We had a brilliant time together, and also with Aoife’s friends and family. She’s a wonderful cook and loves trying out all sorts of dishes! The workload was manageable. Thank you so much, Aoife, for the lovely time we spent together! Take care! Juliette Juliette

Claire is an amazing person. She helped us a lot! 😊 She’s funny, charming, and always happy to help with any task. We wish all volunteers were like her! She’s also very intelligent and curious about the world, different cultures, and customs. She loves talking with other people at the hostel, which is another big plus. You can hear lots of interesting facts and stories from her. We totally recommend her!

Simon stayed with me for two weeks in July. I was really delighted with his visit. We got lots of work done in the garden - every place looked so much better at the end of the two weeks. Simon was an excellent house guest, and v good company. He is of a very friendly disposition. We had lots of interesting chats and discussions. He has expressed an interest in returning next year and I hope that works out.

This was my second volunteering experience and it was really good. Putra was very welcoming and made me feel comfortable from the beginning & his family was also so sweet and kind to me. It was a really nice experience teaching at the school, and I got the opportunity to interact with students from different age groups. The village itself is peaceful and beautiful.I had an amazing time experiencing the local lifestyle and culture. I’m really grateful for the warm hospitality and all the wonderful memories I’m taking back with me :)

My stay with the wonderful duo Ashling and her inquisitive daughter Katie was nothing short of rewarding and fulfilling. Staying in their wonderful home in Naven Ireland amongst the greenery and lovely atmosphere made it feel so safe and Ashling was excellent in showing me tasks needed to be done in the home to ensure everything was clean and tidy. This home definitely requires you to be amazing with kids, having an openness and inviting nature. If you are a confident and proactive individual who can bring a warm vibrancy and stay driven to assist in all house work areas including maintaining cleanliness of the kitchen, weeding, folding and vacuuming, whilst engaging with the family then this stay will be most ideal for you.

We had a lovely experience hosting Toku and Konatsu. They were both very kind and easy going and helped us in several tasks of the house, from painting, fixing things in kitchen and lot in our garden and they were always attentive to the details. We would gladly welcome them any time again in the future.

We had a wonderful two weeks with Anne-Laure, Loïc, Lilou, Chloé and Noémie. They were a fantastic family team! Their cultural exchange activities for our summer holiday were truly wonderful, and the children at our community had so much fun. It was especially impressive to see their daughters taking leadership roles, helping to lead activities and actively engaging with the local children. Even with the language barrier, they kept communicating, playing and connecting with the children. Seeing the whole family working together as a team was truly special. They were also very thoughtful and hardworking when it came to cleaning and tidying the house. They helped willingly and always kept things organized. We are very grateful for everything they contributed to our cultural exchange community. It was a pleasure to have the whole family with us, and we would be very happy to welcome them again in the future. Highly recommended!
