Description
Our wish was to create a place where people come together and having a lovely time: that road brought us to the village Ban Sieou.
Many obstacles were to overcome and various of times we had to start over. Finally our small homestay resort is finished, still developing. Every guest and volunteer leaves his unique, great traces.
We are a family of five, lived the last 15years in Switzerland and decided in 2023 to experience with our kids the laotian part of our familyroots. Luang Prabang and specially his countryside became our new home. As a family we experienced all sorts of different possibilties with learning processes, school options, business, independence. We walk our path with an open mind and a heart for people, animals and nature.
Our place is about 50min. outside Luang Prabang center, in a small village surrounded by rivers and rice fields.
Our motivation: Sustainability, a conscious use of environmental resources and making a contribution to the waste problem in Laos are matters close to our hearts.

As a mixed lao and swiss family we are living in between cultures, open minded and interested in every cultural and learning exchange. Our laotian family is large, you are very welcome to join the traditional ceremonies, be a part of the family customs, celebrations and daily life.

The main reason we welcome workawayers is because we enjoy spending time with people, sharing and exchanging experiences. We open our doors to anyone who wants to get a real look into Laotian village life.
Helping at the homestay whatever is needed:
- Supporting our kids in any kind of language or skills in crafts
- Reparing or building, expanding new projects
- Gardening, planting
- Any kind of marketing advices
- Interior design and decoration suggestions
- Cooking, kitchen help for our family meals
- Be a part in our projects: raising awareness of the waste problem to the villagers, help us step by step to make a change possible

During your stay we arrange a mattress and mosquito net at the large private balcony on our familyhouse.
What we offer:

- You can join village activities that we provide such as traditional fishing, hiking, learning about herbal medicine in lao forrest, cooking class amd working with bamboo

We can pick you up at Luang Prabang center, airport, bus or railway station. We like to help whatever need to be organized: train tickets, motorbike rental or some secret travelling tips 😊
