Marcelina volunteered with us for over a month and it was truly a pleasure to have her as part of our team. From the very beginning, she showed a great attitude, learned new tasks quickly and was always ready to give a hand whenever extra help was needed. She approached every responsibility with enthusiasm and reliability. One of the most special things Marcelina brought to our community was her offer to teach yoga classes several times a week. These classes became a highlight for many of our guests, who absolutely loved them. Her warm energy and ability to create a welcoming atmosphere made each session a memorable experience. Beyond her practical contributions, Marcelina was really a joy to have around. She connected easily with both guests and team members, bringing positivity and kindness wherever she went. Her presence made a meaningful difference and she quickly became a valued part of our community. We honestly couldn't be happier with the time she spent volunteering with us and would highly recommend her to any future host. We are incredibly grateful for everything she contributed and sincerely hope to welcome her back again in the future.

(Matteo) also known as Piero ❤️ and Clara have been the best surprise of this year! They came with the idea to stay on a short term but they ended up with us 3 full months! We did together so many things, from planting trees to re setting anew a huge vegetable garden. They took every task with good interest and every challenge with the right spirit and always succeded! Moving huge trunks to the pile for the winter stoves, carrying and spreading tons of manure, planting seedlings and weeding, the list is infinite! Besides the farm jobs, they always helped at keeping the common spaces tidy and clean, helped at cooking and their presence was always interesting and joyful. We enjoyed talking, sharing experiences and future visions. They've been the perfect guests and we wish all the best for them because they really deserve it wholeheartedly 💚. Thanks so much amigos and hoping to meet you again 🙏🏾

Thank you Rachael and Guy for letting me stay a little longer! It was a really lovely first Workaway experience. I really enjoyed the balance between the daily tasks, having time for myself, and spending time together. You made me feel welcome from the start and I quickly felt at home. Although I have to admit that I probably spent more time with the chickens and the dog than I did gardening… 😄 Thank you for your kindness, the meals, the chats, and for making this such a positive experience. Having Layla here at the farm was great. She was fabulous such a wonderful young woman to host in terms of support, work and company. Layla is really competent, helpful, honest, considerate, kind, mature, direct – a straight forward communicator – which I really appreciated. Layla is proactive, respectful, flexible, strong and really understood the concept of true volunteering and giving back. She was respectful around all the animals here with consistency, kindness, adaptability, safety and boundaries. She is an intelligent, hardworking, problem solving young woman , who took direction really well but was also able to work under her own volition too. Layla was wonderfully independent and easy to have around, while also being great company and we had some really thoughtful quality conversations together. She was also very aware of and respectful of my occasional need for personal space and downtime, which I really appreciated. I very much hope she comes to visit again one day, and I would happily recommend Layla to any host. Thank you for everything, Layla, really hope we get to meet again.

Jonny and Toshi were with me for a week in June and I enjoyed having them to stay. We spent most of the time working in the garden and they did a great job helping to manage it. They are a lovely couple - I enjoyed hearing about their adventures and future plans. I don't think I've ever met two people who were more tidy - even the dirty washing at the end of their stay was folded neatly.Their time finished a bit abruptly when I introduced two kittens to the family, but I've nothing but admiration for a lovely couple. I wish them good fortune during the next stage of their travels and would welcome them back anytime.

She brought calm energy, curiosity, kindness and many nice conversations into our everyday life. She helped with all kinds of tasks without complaining and adapted quickly to a simple rural lifestyle. What we will remember most is not only the work she did but the feeling that she truly enjoyed being here, spending time together, sharing stories, exploring nature and becoming part of our little community. Even now we often mention her and remember moments we shared (and yes — the dogs remember too 😊). Thank you, Prem, for choosing Pecka and leaving a small piece of yourself here. You will always be welcome back.

This was honestly one of the best experiences of my life. From the moment we arrived, we felt incredibly welcomed and quickly became part of everyday village life in this beautiful community nestled in the Himalayas. Mandeep and Bhawna were exceptional hosts, and we instantly felt like family. Mandeep was always involving my two children in farm activities, making them feel included and valued. He was also incredibly caring when they had the occasional fall, using native plants and traditional remedies to help heal cuts and scrapes. Bhawna was equally wonderful with the children, regularly organising activities such as art, music, and crafts. She even taught my daughter how to sew, which was a special experience she will always remember. The food deserves a special mention. Mandeep is an amazing chef and constantly surprised us with delicious local dishes, all prepared using food from the land and fresh organic ingredients from the community. Every meal was unique and full of flavour. He even made incredible dosas and idlis for a South Indian family staying at the guesthouse. For our final evening, he treated us to a pizza night using the handmade cob pizza oven, a perfect ending to our stay. More than anything, we leave with friendships that will last a lifetime. We are so grateful for the kindness, generosity, and sense of belonging that Mandeep and Bhawna shared with us. We can’t wait to return. 💚💚💚

Sunny stayed with us for a few weeks over the Summer this year and we all had a lovely time with her. Sunny has a lovely, open and positive disposition that makes her easy to get along with and love. She helped me redesign my website and she learned a bit about farming while she was here. She was generous of spirit and had a great sense of humour. She was patient and sweet with the children, crafting with them patiently and playing outside. Sunny’s happy disposition is contagious and her sense of wonderment enjoyable to be around. We hope to see her again!

Katarina arrived as a volunteer and left as a friend. A rare kind of friend — someone with whom you feel like sharing parts of your life that you never thought you would share with anyone. Always smiling, communicative, and deeply empathetic, she helped us mainly with household tasks and with transplanting fruit trees. She quickly became a valued part of the community of remote workers that has formed here in Pontremoli, and now we secretly hope to see her back around here again soon 😊

I was lucky enough to enjoy two weeks at Michelle’s beautiful and cozy home with her daughter Amber and two sweet and playsick dogs. They are such kind people and from the second I stepped in I felt welcome! Amazing vegetarian food, and tropical fruits from her own garden! I learned so much about the Australian culture and the way of living here. We had some amazing conversations and her interest in other people amazes me! Michelle also showed me some amazing places around the area even with some 4W driving! I wouldn’t have missed this opportunity for anything! I will always recommend staying with them! I hope the opportunity to visit you again will present itself in the near future!

Jack y Jazmín fueron una pareja muy amable, responsable y respetuosa. Compartieron con mi familia durante una semana en nuestra casa de campo y fue una experiencia muy agradable para todos. Durante su estadía ayudaron en diferentes actividades junto a mi madre, como recoger piedras para construir un muro en el futuro, cortar hierba para los cuyes y ayudar a regar la hierba para los borregos y toros. También compartimos conversaciones muy interesantes durante las cenas y disfrutamos de días tranquilos, sin prisas y con un ambiente muy calmado. Nos alegró mucho poder prepararles algunas comidas típicas y compartir un poco de nuestra cultura con ellos. Además, al final de su voluntariado coincidió el cumpleaños de mi mamá, así que hicimos una pequeña despedida que terminó siendo muy divertida. ¡Incluso terminamos todo el alcohol que tenía guardado de algunos regalos jajaja! Honestamente, les agradezco muchísimo por haber compartido con nosotros. Como siempre digo, en la casa de campo de la familia Caizán, más que un voluntariado, vivimos un verdadero intercambio cultural. También quiero pedir disculpas por no haber podido acompañarlos todos los días y enseñarles muchas más cosas. Gracias por todo y les deseo un excelente viaje lleno de experiencias increíbles y buenos recuerdos.

Gwenn and her family are such wonderful people and I'm really glad I met them. Not only will you experience real women power with them, especially Gwenn herself, but also true hospitality. From the very first day I felt like part of their family and Gwenn was extremely grateful for everything I could help her with. Originally I had planned to stay three weeks but then decided to go see some more of Canada as I didn't have too much time here and they totally encouraged me in that. So I left my stuff for with them for two weeks and came back for my last day to meet up again. I found family in you far away from my own and will totally step by when I'm coming back to Canada one day!

Audrey estuvo con nosotros un tiempo corto, pero suficiente para entregar mucho cariño y trabajo a nuestros animales y Equipo. Vino acompañada con una pareja de amigos, encantadores y juntos nos ayudaron a hacer muchísimo trabajo para prepararnos para el invierno. I was again very fortunate to have chosen an excellent Workaway. Everything was perfect: location, host, work, food, personal time, accommodation...The host Didi is one if the kindest and most caring human being I have ever met. Work was reasonable and not very hard, most of it in the garden and property grounds, weed-wacking. Didi made sure there was plenty of refreshing liquids and snacks. There are plenty of trails in the nearby state park; the location is very scenic, and lots of wildlife around. Plenty of solitude, opportunity to meditate/do yoga/chill... there are a few quaint towns nearby and Didi gave me a ride whenever i wanted one. She also was knowledgeable about local place of interests and trails. Wifi is adequate and the quietness and calm around is very soothing. 100% recommended

Had so much fun hosting Max and Marelie! They have great agricultural sense and picked up right away on the coffee harvesting processes making our lives much easier as we headed into the high season. Super good sense of humors that made workdays fun and we were able to easily connect with them on many intellectual levels. Flexible and never complained about anything. Great people all around and highly recommend for your project!

Staying with Frank at his permaculture project was one of the most special parts of my trip through South America. The project is absolutely beautiful to live in and be apart of. The plants, animals, nature, and most of all the people make the experience unforgettable! Special mention to Franks amazing family as well, they are all extremely welcoming and a lovely addition to my month at Franks project. Frank has put a ton of time and care into the space & has an incredible amount of knowledge about plants, permaculture, and the land itself, and he is very patient and generous in sharing that knowledge as well. Beyond the work itself, we shared countless fun, memorable experiences, laughter, deep conversations, and genuine moments together. Definitely a month that will stay with me forever! Thank you Frank, for your kindness, patience, and care, and for giving me an adventure I’ll always remember.

It's hard to believe how quickly these 10 days with Shion and Elliot went by. They were great helpers and a pleasure to have around. During their stay they helped with weeding, water blasting, indoor and outdoor painting, tidying the laundry, and even sewing a new bed for our dog Pinot. They were always cheerful, willing to help, and happy to take on a variety of tasks. Elliot also treated us to a delicious apple and rhubarb crumble. They worked well, followed instructions, and were easy to live with. We appreciated all their help and would happily recommend them to other hosts. Thank you both, hope to see you again and all the best for your travels.

My time here was one of the most transformative experiences of my trip, and I honestly could have stayed another four months. Before arriving, I was interested in permaculture, but my time here inspired me to pursue it on a much deeper level. Diego is incredibly knowledgeable, passionate, and deeply involved in the project and an inspiring person to learn from. Siljie was also a wonderful teacher and yoga instructor. She brought a thoughtful and grounding energy to the project, and she and Diego create an environment that is welcoming, fun, and genuinely community-oriented. The land itself is absolutely beautiful—lush, scenic, and full of life. I learned so much during my stay, from building mud homes and working in gardens to gaining a deeper understanding of regenerative living. There was something incredibly healing about the experience; coming from the city, it truly felt like jungle therapy. A special shoutout to their lovely darling cat Yuca, my personal guardian angel, as well as Romer, the amazing neighbor and local jungle expert who is always a wonderful guide in the projects. More than anything, this place set the tone for the rest of my travels. I left feeling inspired, energized, and with a much clearer vision of the kind of life and work I want to pursue in the future. Thank you to Diego, Siljie, and everyone involved for creating such a special place. It was an unforgettable experience, and I would recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone interested in permaculture, community living, and connecting more deeply with nature and yourself.
