  • Description

Hello! My name is Yona, and I’m from Japan.
I’m passionate about traveling, art, and connecting with people from all walks of life. So far, I’ve visited around 20 countries and regions, but I feel my journey has only just begun.

I would describe myself as a curious, positive, and open-minded person. I love exploring new perspectives and always try to respect different ways of thinking.

    ✨ My Experiences

    Community & Volunteering:
Since high school, I have joined projects in Thailand, working with ethnic minority villages to build schools and dams. In Japan, I’ve helped friends renovate traditional houses into guest houses for art projects.

    Hospitality:
I spent a year living and working in a hostel in Osaka, where I was in charge of bed making, cleaning, social media (Instagram), and welcoming guests. Currently, I’m on a working holiday in Taiwan, where I’ve had the chance to explore local culture more deeply, including the traditions of Indigenous communities.

    Arts & Creativity:
I am a henna and jagua tattoo artist, and I love painting and designing. Music is also a big part of my life—I’ve played the piano since childhood and enjoy creating through sound.

    Education:
I worked for one year as an after-school teacher at an international kindergarten in Japan. I taught arts and crafts, music, and simple dance classes. This experience deepened my love for creative education, especially activities that stimulate the five senses.

    💡 What I Can Offer

Creativity (art, henna, tattoos, design, Japanese calligraphy)

Music & education (piano, teaching kids, arts & crafts)

    Hospitality & social media experience

Curiosity, positivity, and respect for different cultures

    🌱 My Values & Vision

For me, traveling is not only about seeing new places but also about understanding cultures in depth—including the traditions of Indigenous peoples, and how people live within different social and global positions.

I want to explore life beyond the surface, to listen to stories that are often overlooked and to connect with people in a meaningful way.

These experiences inspire me to pursue my dream of becoming a photojournalist, documenting diverse perspectives through images and words to share them with the world.
