Hello! My name is Victoria, and I am a 22 year old Polish-American university student studying history and music. I am also a passionate language learner/teacher and professional translator. In my free time I love to sing, explore, craft, write, and meet new people. Above all, I love learning new skills - life feels too short for everything I would like to do! Right now, I am looking for a Workaway opportunity in the summer, before I begin my university studies in the UK in the fall.

More details about my language interests
I grew up in a bilingual household, and I love the ways in which learning and speaking many languages adds value and perspective to life! In addition to being a native speaker of Polish and English, I am also fluent in French, studying Latin and German at university, and learning Spanish from my Spanish-speaking friends. I am always interested in sharing my languages with others and learning new ones.

I think my most important skill is being an adaptable, curious, and accepting person. I love visiting new places, learning languages, and making friends!

I have worked many jobs in my life already: sailor, translator, language teacher, youth counselor, seamstress, secretary, cook, etc., and that's given me a diverse set of skills. I have been certified in basic firefighting and Red Cross first aid, and as a pool lifeguard.

I speak several languages, and love sharing them. I currently work professionally as a translator, and I have been an English teacher to non-native English speakers.

I have also been a teacher more generally, tutoring students in math, chemistry, physics, and writing, and teaching woodworking and outdoor skills as part of the Scouts of America.

I have lots of hands-on experience with practical skills such as home maintenance, cooking, woodworking, gardening, painting, and crafting. I am very resourceful, and I like solving problems!

I weave and sew fabric, and I often make and mend clothing for myself and others. I have worked as a professional seamstress and costume designer, but I also just love sewing and embroidery. I am happy to lend a hand wherever sewing is concerned!

Music is also a passion of mine, and I sing and play several instruments. I also love to dance! I teach and perform traditional Polish and Eastern European dance, but I love traditional/folk dances from all around the world.

I am a passionate reader and writer, currently reading Nnedi Okorafor's "Death of the Author" and Olga Tokarczuk's "Prowadź swój pług przez kości umarłych", but I'm always looking for recommendations!

I also paint in oil and watercolor, write travel stories and short fiction, embroider, repair antique sewing machines, and volunteer at a food bank in my free time.
