  • Description

    Hello!

My name is Ceyden, I am 18 (soon to be 19) years old and currently taking a gap year, before starting university. My Boyfriend Thomas and I want to use this time to travel, experience different cultures, meet new people, and gain meaningful life experiences.

We are especially interested in trekking and hiking, nature and wildlife photograpghy, eco-farming, and volunteering, particularly with animals, families and sustainable projects. After graduating from school, we spent two months living in the Scottish countryside, where we had some of the most memorable experiences of our lives. We went wild camping and trekking in the highlands and on scottish islands in the west and we worked for a shepherdess, helping take care of her wondurful dogs, chicken and ducks. This time strengthend our connection to hands-on and outdoor work.

Both of us plan to study biology at university and would love to work in the sustainability and environmental field, as protecting nature and living responsibly are topics very close to our hearts.

I would describe myself as open-minded, adventurous and reliable. I love working with animals and people, and i also really enjoy working with children. I am always excited to learn new skills and look forward learing from diffferent people. In my free time, i enjoy reading, working out and painting/sketching.

I am grateful for every opportunity to learn, grow and be part of something meaningful. Lastly i would be thrilled to be part of a place where helping, learning and living consciously go hand in hand! :)

    Hello!

My name is Thomas, I am 19 years old, and I live in Essen, Germany.

We graduated from school in 2025, and we are planning to start studying biology in October 2026.
Until then, we want to go on many adventures across many different countries. I want to experience different countries wildlife and nature. On the way, I want to meet many people and have a chance to experience their cultures firsthand.
To add to this, I am eager to learn new skills and help wherever I go.
I wish to gain some new perspectives on life, as well as just experience how it is to live in different countries and communities, to the one I grew up in.

My main interests are (wildlife) photography, natural sciences, especially ecology and biology, and sports. Due to this, I spend lots of time outside doing everything from taking pictures of wildlife, which I post on my Instagram account (@thomas.warburton_photography) to hiking, trekking, gardening, sports, and basically all other activities that involve the outdoors.
I also spend lots of time walking and training our family dog. Furthermore, I enjoy physical work and feel comfortable with hands-on tasks. Lastly, I love trying new foods and cooking.

I speak German and English fluently, having grown up in an English-speaking household while living in Germany. To add to this, I am organized, and value a clean and tidy living and working environment. I always make sure to clean up after myself and take responsibility for shared spaces.

I really enjoyed our trip to Scotland and I look forward to our future adventures and all the experiences and skills we will gather and the people we will meet along the way.

I have a lot of experience with children, as I grew up in a big family with my little sister and many younger cousins. I’ve also given piano and German lessons to children aged 6, 9, and 11.

I spent two months in Scotland working outdoors with farm animals and dogs, which I really enjoyed and am comfortable with. My family has a Doberman girl named Lany, and I often train her and take her out for runs and long walks. Dog-sitting has also been a regular side job for me over the years.

I’ve worked in a café in my hometown, at a Christmas market, where we sold upcycled vinyl records turned into clocks and at a bookstore.

I have completed my Abitur this year (German high school diploma) and i have had my driver’s license for about a year now. German is my native language, and I speak English at an advanced level.

I’ve helped out with garden and small building projects a few times. I’m not a construction expert and would also say that i am not the best in that prospect, however I enjoy hands-on work and would love to learn more. Therefore physical work, is not a problem or an obstacle in any way.

Lastly, Thomas and i have helped prepare and organize a natural dyeing workshop in Scotland.

    (Thomas)

I have a fair bit of experience working with children. I gathered this experience while working as an assistant at a summer and autumn camp for primary school kids in 2025. To add to this, I also worked as a trainer at my canoe sprint club for two summer seasons of 2024 and 2025
Furthermore, I worked at a Christmas market where I sold wooden models this Christmas.

Outside my work experience, I also have a first aid qualification and a lifeguard qualification. To be more specific, I have the German  Deutsches Rettungs-schwimmabzeichen Silber. I received both qualifications in 2023.
Furthermore, I have quite a lot of experience working with dogs. I earned this experience while training my own family dog, and I also took care of five sheepdogs belonging to a shepherdess in Scotland, together with Ceyden.
I have some experience crafting and building but not much, however I would love to improve my skills.
Lastly, I enjoy cooking everything from simple to more complicated meals at home.

I look forward to learning many more skills over the course of the next year!
