Hi there, my name is Maggie, I live in Askeaton, County Limerick. I live in an old country farm house with acres of land. I live with my son Oliver who is 20 years old. We have a friendly Springer Spaniel called Molly and a tabby cat called Tina who lives inside the house with us.
I work as a gardener frequently in the Askeaton Community and take on private gardening and cleaning jobs. I love gardening and growing fruit and vegetables. I have many cleaning jobs in private houses near Askeaton. I am a horticultural teacher and love showing people how to grow plants.
My home is in the countryside just 30 minutes walk to the centre of Askeaton, or 10 minutes by car. In the centre of the village is a beautiful 12th Century Castle and a Franciscan Abbey. Also we can travel to Adare the prettiest village in Ireland. Limerick city is just 30 minutes by car or by public transport from Askeaton centre.
I would love some help with household duties and also with gardening and cleaning jobs. In exchange I offer a single private room, a shared kitchen, bathroom. toilet and washing machine. We have also fibre broadband internet available.
If you are an outdoor, gardening, animal lover you are welcome! It will be a pleasure for me to share my life with you and teach you English or Gaeilge, if you like. Teaching is another passion of mine, I'm a professional online teacher.
Happy days! See you soon!

What a brilliant time!! Maggie is so much fun and made me feel so safe travelling on my own for the first time. I joined her in her community scheme helping tidy up the village, and did chores around her house including painting, tidying, washing dishes, general cleaning and doing up a room! One day I also joined her daughter in her cleaning job… read more around a house.
Some highlights were: going to a festival with her friends in Wicklow, cooking aubergines, looking after a kitten for her friend (wee declan!) and seeing cork, the ring of kerry and limerick!
Maggie is such a down to earth person and I learnt a lot from her with so many interesting conversations. She is genuinely interested in what you have to say. I also met a lot of her friends and family in the short time i was there- and her dog and cat are lovely pets.
I would recommend bringing a car as it is easier to get about and see things on your own, however Maggie is happy to leave you off at the bus stop or take you somewhere if needed.
Thank you Maggie for a great experience.🫶🏼🫶🏼

Hi everyone! I encourage you to stay with Maggie, she is wonderful. She will share with you everything: house, time, friends, knowledge, feelings, food. Her way of living is easy and relaxed. You will experience few worries and yet two days will never be the same - that's what she said once. Work is not hard but if you want to do more there is… read more always something that can be done and you can come up with your own ideas or fall asleep in the garden as I did... Don't worry, I received a harsh punishment for this. Market on saturday is brilliant too, many people and wheatgrass juicing! I enjoyed a lot eating fresh vegetables from the garden, exspecially the many types of kales, and the apples were very tasty too. The red apple tree is beautiful and I had the opportunity to see the fruit become ripe and red as the days went by until it was ready to pick... beautiful! Nevertheless, Maggie always asks you if you want something else when going shopping.
We also had a great time partying and hanging out. She took me to festivals and pubs, we danced and sung and made friends with amazing people and musicians. If you like music be sure you'll find a lot when staying with Maggie. We also had an amazing road trip to south Cork which last two days and took us among green and magical hills and then along the coast, where we slept on the side of a lake that lights up at night because of the seaweed, but we were both sleeping and missed that, and the seals as well!
Thank you Maggie, we had some wild and amazing craic <3 :)
