I'm Takuya!
I am currently on a backpacking travel in Europe until July 2026.

Timelines

My interest varies. But, what always in my core are, real food not processed one, how to grow it, how to pass our lives to the next generation, nature, digital sovereignty, and music. There weren't many people like me in my hometown. But I believed there must be people in the world who share my interests. That's one of the things that drove me to travel.

Last year I was mostly doing farming.
2025
Feb : I was a computer engineering student in university but I took a gap year.
Mar : I started to work as a Farm Assistant with an old farming teacher in his home. He dedicated his life only for organic agriculture and I learned a lot about the essence of farming. I got interested in agriculture and its role in this society.
Aug : I decided to do Working Holiday in Germany for 1 year. I flew to Munich.
Oct : I was working on two WWOOF farmers in Germany until January On the first farmer I was caring livestocks, like goats, sheeps, gooses, chicken.

Then I wanted to change my place. To the place where I dreamed but never tried to visit.
2026
Jan : I reached out to one tech charity in Berlin and got some volunteering jobs (translation).
Feb : I started to use Workaway. I worked two different places, 3 weeks in each. One was a local community, other was a family farm. I did mostly painting, but the people I met there were really valuable, and encouraging.
April : I started to hitchhike to Barcelona from there.

Introduction

- I learned computer engineering in Japan. Compiler, Kernel, FPGA, Processor design are my interests. I like helping computer related issues for my friends. I'm planning to start 'Fab Academy' this year.

- I spent most of my life in west side of Mie, a city closed to Osaka and Kyoto, surrounded by mountains.

- I'm more of a quiet type than an energetic one. I don't often initiate conversations, but I really enjoy talking to people. I'm interested in a wide variety of topics. I really like any kind of topics, except inappropriate ones.

- I'm still learning to cook and I'm not very good at it yet, but I'd love to cook with someone, and I always cooked with my mother.

- My best friend was a great traveler, but I'm learning how to travel without her.

Music
The performances of the Sant Andreu Jazz Band from Barcelona are truly amazing, and I'm moved and cry every time I hear them. I also listen to the music of the artists in that band (Andrea Motis, Ignasi Terraza, Carla Motis, Alba Armengou...). In May 2026 I finally met the band leader Joah Chamorro, and could hug. I like both guitar trios and big bands. I listen to the things that satisfy me hundreds of times, so even though I don't understand the meaning, I remember the lyrics. I like timeless messages.
When an American musician came to Ikoma, near my hometown, to visit his friend, I happened to be there with my best friend. The song he played on guitar next to me was wonderful, and I still hum it sometimes.
I also listen to club music and buy records frequently.

Hiking
I like walking without thinking about anything. I like observing the environment carefully.
I like going to high places and looking into the distance. I haven't been to famous places very often, but sometimes I experience a sense of satisfaction that's hard to explain, that's why I like hiking.

Reading
I think I've made many one-sided friends through reading. It was one of my hobbies when I was in school. I spent a lot of time in the library and read all sorts of books. I've also loved reading aloud since I was a child. When I'm reading aloud, I become a different person. Japan has a great collection of picture books. I also read a lot of picture books from other countries when I was little, and I think that's related to my longing for other countries.
