Description
I love the slow travel experience of volunteering, particularly seeing life through the eyes of locals and their animals!
Over the last 15 years my primary vocation has been working in the outdoors in various positions such as: a kayak guide in Spain; a hiking/watersports guide in United Arab Emirates; a surf instructor in England; and a glacier guide in Iceland.
In my spare time I love to practice yoga, go hiking, play chess or relax with a good book or movie. -

The work is very pleasant, the hostel is an oasis, Jennie is incredible accomodating, and overall a perfect opportunity to take dirt cheap Spanish classes. Discounts on tours/shuttles also come in handy.
If I end up travelling through Guatemala again next year I will be back.

Anir was a lovely host and very generous, from picking me up at Oliveira to sharing a picnic up the Serra Estrella mountains.
The jobs were simple enough and weather held out long enough to rake leaves and chop lots of wood amonist others.
