Hi! My name is Piermario, I’m 39 years old and I come from Sardinia, a beautiful island in Italy. Maybe because I grew up on an island, I’ve always loved the sea, nature, quiet places and a slow, simple lifestyle.

For many years I worked as a carpenter, learning a lot about woodworking, maintenance and renovations. It’s a craft I truly enjoy and that still gives me a lot of satisfaction, not only as a job but also while traveling. In Mexico, for example, my skills were very useful during the renovation of a house that became a small hostel, which I then managed and ran for almost three years.

While living in Mexico, I learned Spanish and I now speak it fluently, at the same level as Italian. Through my travels, I also picked up a basic level of English. I can communicate well, but I’d really like to improve it and take it to a more advanced level.

I enjoy hands-on and creative work such as carpentry, maintenance, gardening and general repairs. I like helping travelers, being useful in shared projects, and I’m always happy to learn new skills and try new things.

I usually like to work independently and appreciate having some freedom, flexible schedules and clear goals. That said, during my last volunteer experience in Senegal, I discovered how fun and rewarding teamwork can be when there’s good energy and cooperation among people.

I’m easygoing, reliable and respectful, and I really value cultural exchange, collaboration and meaningful human connections
