    Nadia's description
Hello! My name is Nadia and I am half German half Cypriot! I grew up in Cyprus, lived for three years in England whilst studying for my Bachelor degree in Accounting and I am currently living in Germany. I have visited many countries in Europe but also in Africa and Asia!

I have also studied primary school education. I am a primary school teacher taking currently a break before continuing working at a new district in September. I have always wanted to experience teaching in other countries and come in contact with people from other cultures. I love kids and what motivates me is the idea of providing kids with knowledge and helping them develop skills that will help them build a better future for themselves and for their society. At the same time, I want children to see school not only as a learning environment but also as a place where they can build friendships and have a good time!

I have also worked at a kindergarten for 5 years and after-school-care centres but I still hope to learn a lot at children-related areas abroad. However, I would also be open to trying other types of work , whether that is at a sanctuary or at a farm!

I am a person who loves travelling and eating, art, playing the piano, animals and baking! Some of my favourite things to do at the kindergarten is reading stories, doing art and science projects with the kids and playing with them, especially outdoors.

We travelled quite a bit two years ago and had an amazing time at Kad-Sala, where we stayed and volunteered during our stay in Thailand. We hope to have the opportunity of volunteering in Mongolia this winter and we look forward to our trip to Asia.

    Rena's description
My name is Rena, and I am a bilingual culture enthusiast. I am Nadia's twin sister. I grew up on the small island of Cyprus, an island in the Mediterranean Sea. I grew up speaking German and Greek. I grew up with my three sisters and our three cats. I am a primary school teacher in Germany, currently taking a one- year break from teaching in order to travel . I have also spent three years living in England. Two years ago I travelled to Asia for the first time with my two sisters. We visited Japan, Korea, Thailand ( where we did our first workaway) and Vietnam. At our first workaway we worked together with children, teaching them English.

Travelling and staying in East and Southeast Asia have been on my bucket list for a few years. It all started in 2013 when I first went to a museum in the UK, hosting an exhibition on costumes, porcelains, and artefacts from East Asia. After that first encounter, I became more interested in the culture, food, history, language and people of countries in East and Southeast Asia including China, Mongolia,Japan, Korea, Thailand and Indonesia.

My biggest passions are travelling, teaching, cooking and learning about different cultures. Working with children is a blessing and an opportunity to help children achieve their dreams and motivate them. I am a firm believer of combining learning and having fun in all aspects of life. It is a message I try to deliver to not only my students but also to people around me. In my opinion there is always an opportunity to learn something new, as long as you are willing to take it. People describe me as a creative, patient, caring and organised person. I enjoy working with both children, adults and animals. In my free time I like watching movies, Korean, Chinese and Thai dramas, reading books, hiking, and attending cultural events.

    Nadia's skills
I have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance, a Bachelor and a Master's degree in Bilingual Primary School Education . I worked at a kindergarten for 5 years in order to finance my studies. I speak German, English and Greek fluently.

I also like making videos and have also experience in editing them.

Whilst doing a voluntary year in Germany at an after-school care centre I organised activities and small projects for the children including cooking and crafting. I have already taught lessons at a primary school and the subjects I like to teach the most are english, science and art. I also create materials for my lessons by using different programmes and websites like canvas.

I bake and cook regularly and I have worked as waitress for several summers during university and school breaks. I have also worked at festivals in Germany and the UK.

Work and studies have taught me team-work, punctuality, responsibly and organisation skills.

    Rena's skills
My academic background includes a bachelors degree in accounting and finance and a Masters degree in bilingual Primary school education. I have worked with children of ages 3 to 12. In the past I worked at a kindergarten, at an after-school day care center and at a primary school teaching English, Science and Art and crafts as a substitute tacher.Whilst working as a substitute teacher I had the opportunity to learn how to create my own teaching materials using websites like for example Canva.

I used to work as a waitress and a cashier at a fast-food chain during summer vacation in Cyprus, which provided a good opportunity to enhance my social and teamwork skills and get to know people from different parts of the world. I have also worked and volunteered in festivals in both Germany and the UK. I have also worked as a fashion consultant for a few years in order to finance my studies.

I currently speak English, German and Greek fluently. I have basic knowledge of Korean and have been learning Thai since early October 2022. I enjoy organising and planning overseas trips for my family and friends. I am quite good at cooking and baking dishes from different areas and countries as a result of living in many countries and coming into contact with people from different countries. Moreover during the pandemic, I also learned how to edit videos using Moviemaker. Since then I have been working as a primary school teacher.
