Description
HI! I'm a recent college graduate with a degree in English Literature and a minor in Spanish. I love connecting with new people and hearing their stories. I'm an eager and enthusiastic learner, and I love spending time in nature, reading books, or making art!
Although I've dedicated myself in school to Spanish and learning about different countries in Latin America, this is my first chance to travel outside of the country. I'm excited to apply all of my language learning (and hopefully improve a lot by learning more from the people around me) in a new country.
I'm deeply passionate about conservation and the natural world, having grown up surrounded by people who taught me how to love and care for the planet we live on. I'm excited to be a part of Workaway, because I hope I will have the chance to act more directly on this passion as I travel. I love being outside, and I'm not afraid of hard or messy work!
Although I've never been a Workawayer before now, I have many people in my life who have recommended this organization to me, and I even know a few people who are hosts in Canada. Everyone I've spoken to has had incredible things to say about traveling this way, and I can't wait to get started.

More details about your skills
I have grown up surrounded by people who garden and farm, so I'm very comfortable in those settings with planting, digging holes, weeding, and harvesting. I've also done a few small construction projects--benches, shelves--under the guidance of more experienced friends and family. I would love to join Workaway projects where these skills would be assets.
I'm also great with children, and I volunteer twice a week with children ages 5-13 at my local library helping them with homework. I bring a lot of energy and enthusiasm to being around young people, as I find they have much to teach us, and I love their creativity and energy!
I'm good with people in general, as I've worked for many years as a waitress. From this job, I've learned how to work with a team of people to be quick and efficient, as well as excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution.
Above all, I'm a hard worker and a quick learner, and I'm passionate about connecting with people. While I hope I can be part of projects that allow me to bring the above skills, I'm also excited to learn many new things over the course of my travels.

What else ...
I love crafting: collage, knitting, crochet, sewing, pretty much anything I can get my hands on. I'm a big reader, of course, and would love book recommendations from people as I travel. I love going for long hikes, paddle boarding, canoeing, and I've started learning how to rock climb.
