  • Description

    Hello!
I’m Natalie. I am a kind, respectful, and community-oriented person from Austin, Texas. I have a background working in hospitality, creative arts, childcare, and other-guest centered work. I love meaningful cultural exchange and connecting with new people.

I’m a creative and hands-on person. I enjoy cooking, photography, writing, ceramics, painting, gardening, and most creative DIY projects where I'm using my hands. My background in hospitality includes a diverse range of positions; I’ve worked at a bed & breakfast for thru-hikers in the Colorado Rocky Mountains, helping with guest check-ins, cleaning, turning rooms and cooking, as well as working as a server in a fine-dining, high-volume restaurant for years. Additionally, I volunteer in Austin with a creative arts non-profit and a community gardening project. If you have a creative project, hospitality/guest space, or garden that could use an extra set of hands, I’m your girl!

In my work away exchange I’d love to help you with a variety of tasks, including cooking (see my gallery of my meal pictures in my album!), gardening, creative projects, cleaning, DIYing, and guest hospitality. I also have extensive childcare experience and am open to helping with children as part of a broader exchange, though I’m ideally looking for opportunities that involve a mix of responsibilities. Additionally, I’d love to help with lighter DIY projects, but I probably am not the best fit for heavy construction labor.

Hosts that have an appreciation and love of cooking (and want to share their knowledge and heritage with me!), who practice creativity in the arts, value nature, and enjoy community-oriented living, would be a great fit! I’m hoping for a location with walkability to a town/nature trails (and/or a bike to borrow) since I won’t have transportation.

I am a friendly, down-to-earth person, with a deep curiosity and desire to learn. I'm communicative and respectful, adaptable, and easy to live with. I hope to connect deeply with others in a meaningful way. :)

This will be my first experience using Workaway, but I’ve included Airbnb reviews in my photos from hosts I’ve stayed with that reflect the respectful and reliable guest I strive to be!
