Description
Hi everyone 🌞
I'm Petra, 28, originally from Hungary.
I first discovered Workaway back in 2019 and I loved it so much that I kept returning to the same host for years. Now I'm on a Working Holiday Visa in Australia, where I've just completed my 88 days for my second-year visa extension. It's been an incredible adventure so far and I'm excited to see where the next chapter takes me.
Back home, I worked as a Production Manager in advertising and creative agencies, as well as a freelancer. I'm good at connecting the dots, keeping projects organised, making clients happy, and managing small teams from pre-production right through to final delivery. I also have experience with content creation, social media, photography and drone videography so I'm always happy to help with creative projects if needed.
But work has never been the most interesting thing about me: people and travel are.
I've been lucky enough to visit around 40 countries, and what I enjoy most isn't ticking destinations off a list but meeting people, hearing their stories, sharing meals, learning from different ways of life, and feeling part of a community even if only for a little while. Those connections are what make travelling so meaningful to me.
When I came to Australia, all I wanted was to spend as much time as possible in or near the water. Since arriving, I've earned both my PADI Open Water Diver and PADI Freediver certifications, started learning to surf (still very much a beginner!), and completely fallen in love with Australia's marine life. One of my biggest dreams is to spend time living and working on a boat, learning from experienced sailors and exploring life at sea.
I have a very active lifestyle and genuinely enjoy almost anything that gets me moving—running, hiking, cycling, pilates, yoga, strength training, rowing, kayaking, chopping wood... I'm usually up for trying something new. I'm also interested in nutrition and appreciate a good, balanced meal.
As a Workawayer, I'm happy to help wherever I'm needed. Whether it's gardening, cooking, looking after animals, helping around the house, working outdoors, or lending a hand with children, I enjoy being useful and learning new skills along the way. I also have both A and B category driver's licences with around 10 years of driving experience, and yes, I can confidently drive on the left side too!
I'd describe myself as hardworking and reliable. My longest work week was 108 hours (a bit too crazy!), but I also value slowing down, spending time in nature, having meaningful conversations and enjoying the quiet moments away from busy city life.
My friends often say I'm a mix of adventure and calm. I think they're right. I'm always curious about what's over the next hill but I'm just as happy sitting around a campfire, watching the sunset or sharing stories over dinner.
Looking forward to meeting you somewhere along the way! -

More details about your skills
Regarding to my studies I could help in marketing. I also have qualification in internal auditing but I would leave this skill at home when I am on my way. I can speak English fluently and hungarian is my native language. I did study German for 4 years but I wouldn't mention it as a strength.
I would like to help in child-care and household chores. I-ve worked as an waitress also, so I consider my hospitality as an great advantage. I do have some experience as a kitchen helper. But whatever would be my duty I would love to challenge myself! -
