Hi, I’m Michael!

For the past 12 years, I’ve been traveling, working, and exploring life across Europe, North Africa, and Central and South America. Along the way, I’ve picked up Spanish, Portuguese, and a bit of Italian, which has made it easier—and more fun—to connect with people. One of my favorite ways to do that is through cooking and sharing meals, discovering local flavors, and swapping stories along the way.

My work has been just as varied as my travels. I spent nearly ten summers in Ireland as an adventure guide, leading kayaking, surfing, and coasteering trips along the rugged Connemara coast. In Costa Rica, I managed a busy bar and nightclub while also teaching English, combining operations, hospitality, and cultural exchange. I’ve also worked as an on-board courier delivering urgent packages and in education and non-profits, supporting students and projects. Each role has taught me to adapt quickly, organize efficiently, and connect with people from all walks of life.

When I’m not working, I’m usually outdoors, active, and chasing the next adventure. Surfing is a huge passion, and I’m also a drummer, a motorcycle enthusiast, and a fan of almost any sport—volleyball, basketball, fútbol, or American football. I love being on the move, learning new skills, and meeting people along the way.

I’m excited to meet new hosts, explore fresh destinations, and dive into more memorable experiences that combine travel, culture, and adventure!
