Hello , we are Julia and Alexa from Berlin. We both have permanent jobs in the cultural sector. We started doing workaway in 2024 in Umbria and liked it very much! We would like to spend more time doing physical work in nature.

Julia: I learned Italian up to B1 level and am looking forward to also have the opportunity to help out or peek into some kitchens. I also speak German, French and English.
I love to cook and am interested in good, healthy & organic food and wine and its production. I play the piano and the guitar, I play concerts regularly with my band.

Alexa: I speak German, English fluently and some Italian, wrong mostly but with pleasure; I also like to work outside or help with anything needed around farming, animals, cooking...

We are two people, a couple living in the city center of Berlin and we are planning on leaving the city for some time in 2025, taking time out from work. (Julia, age 40, is working for the International Film Festival in Berlin in communication and I (age 45) work for a music NGO.

We both enjoy cooking, eating, working outside, being around animals and we have a hands on mentality. However, relaxing times with friendly people are also very nice.
Julia speaks italian well and I... well, I try but I make many mistakes - but I like to communicate.
We have been to some italien regions like Emilia-Romagna, Toscana, Umbria, Puglia, Calabria, Sicilia and Sardegna.

We both have a driver's license, have some experience in working in gardens but not with woodwork, really, but are keen to learn anything.
In our free time we like to explore the region (especially food markets, we cook a lot (home made pasta ripiene is lot's of fun, either italian but also asian style, Gyoza or Dumplings), Julia makes music and I take pictures. We both play table tennis with enthusiasm and we do enjoy live concerts. We would love to help you with anything about growing, harvesting, preparing food (and cleaning up afterwards, of course), but will try to be of help with anything else that you may need our help with, as well.
We both grew up around dogs and therefore know a little about them and like them.

Since we are still new to the workaway world, we decided we are happy to help with all sorts of things. Our priority during our stay will clearly be off computers, though we might use a phone for directions. We like to visit the region a little bit, if possible, but also this is not the priority during our stay.

We are both open minded, are happy to meet new people and enjoy laughing, socializing and having a good time.
