Hello everyone, I'm Lydia! I am 19 years old from Michigan, United States.
I am currently studying animal science/veterinary nursing at Michigan State University and have a passion for animals and learning more about agriculture / ranching. I have a love for working with and riding horses and have a genuine interest in learning more about them. Not only do I have a love for working with horses, but I also enjoy working with any other species. I strive to gain a better understanding of working with animals and expand my knowledge of them to better prepare me for college. Traveling allows me to expand my horizons and gain hands-on experiences. Connecting with hosts and fellow Workawayers who share a similar passion excites me, as it creates an opportunity for learning and the exchange of valuable insights.

I have a diverse background related to equine work and I have experienced with other animals as well!
I have acquired knowledge of horses by working on many horse farms and growing up riding western. I grew up riding, not competitively, but just for trail riding, pleasure, and fun.
In addition to this, my involvement in FFA (Future Farmers of America) has provided me with exposure to various animals, helping me gain a better understanding of their care and needs. I am currently pursuing animal science/veterinary nursing at college, my passion for veterinary medicine drives me to continually expand my knowledge, particularly in the realm of both larger and smaller animals. Having grown up in the country I understand what hard work means and I am not afraid to get my hands dirty.
I am dedicated to combining my experiences with academic insights, making me a valuable asset for hosts seeking an individual with a genuine passion for animals and a diverse skill set.

In addition to my love for animals and veterinary studies, I find joy in working with children and am more than willing to assist with household tasks. While my preference is to work outdoors with animals, I am adaptable and open to any tasks that require support. Growing up in a family that values exploration and travel, I have developed a deep passion for hiking and sightseeing.
