Hello / Hola! My name is Kieran (o Kique en español).

My background:
-Born and raised in rural Pennsylvania (USA), in Amish country
-Went to university in NYC, where I worked for 5 years in technology & entertainment
-Moved to Puerto Rico in 2018, where I co-founded and co-directed an agricultural/ecological nonprofit for 5 years. Currently work in hospitality and the arts.

Current travel plans:
For August-October 2026, I'm traveling through Europe to reconnect with my Irish roots, while also connecting with different people and cultures in locations that I may consider studying for a postgraduate degree next year. In 2015, I had an amazing 3-month workaway experience in Seville, Spain [host reference available upon request], and I'm excited to return to this platform to see what new experiences await :)

Working style & skills:
I have a positive, can-do attitude and am open to many types of work. I have a lot of experience with work related to land & gardening, admin & digital/tech support, project planning & management, and creative projects. Having worked at a lot of small and early-stage projects, I am used to 'learning on the job' and picking up new skills quickly. I’m very communicative and respectful of boundaries and shared space -- equally comfortable collaborating or keeping to myself depending on the dynamic of the household/project.

Why I love traveling through workaway:
I love to contribute meaningfully to the places I visit, while also learning from the people and environments I spend time with. For me, one of the greatest joys in life is connecting and building relationships with people from all different perspectives and cultures, learning and growing together.
