*** Looking for a Workaway experience in Germany from Mid-April / May 2026 onwards ***

Hi there,

We are Johanna (32) from Germany and Kevin (28) from Australia and we are looking for a Workaway experience in Germany starting from Mid-April/ May 2026.

Currently, we are working at a chalet village in Austria during the busy winter season (December 2025 until mid-April 2026). Our tasks include reception duties, preparing chalets for guest arrivals, maintenance and housekeeping, restaurant service, and supporting the daily operations of the business.

After completing our work in Austria, we will be heading to Germany, where Kevin has a German Working Holiday Visa ,which is valid until April 2027. We bring a diverse range of skills, are highly motivated, and are always open to learning new things, growing personally, and supporting our hosts wherever needed.

Johanna: I am a hotel professional with over 13 years’ work experience in the front and back of house of several hotels, resorts, restaurants and cafes located in Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and currently in a chalet village in Austria.

Kevin: I am an avid outdoors lover having worked in related fields including forest firefighting, working as a park ranger and a recreation officer for around 8 years and holding a Bachelor's degree in environmental science. Since 2025 I gained some valuable hospitality work experience in the chalet village in Austria, we are currently working at.

In our free time, we love being outdoors and spending time in nature — exploring new places, hiking or running, or simply watching the sunrise or sunset. When we’re indoors, we enjoy:

- playing board games (Scrabble, Qwirkle, Uno, Azul, Boggle are regular favorites 🙂)
- hosting international cooking nights and trying recipes from around the world
- dancing
- practicing yoga, meditation, and self-reflection
- working out
- reading
- creative writing and drawing nights

We are very curious about new cultures and ways of living, and we truly enjoy meeting new people, having meaningful conversations, and sharing good moments together.

Kevin is currently learning German and aspires to be fluent. We have been living and working in Austria since June 2025 and in this time Kevin has been improving on his German daily. Although he is not fluent yet, Kevin is able to hold conversations and looks forward to improving his German further.

Johanna: I am a hotel professional with over 13 years’ experience working in the front and back of house of several hotels, resorts, restaurants/ cafes located in Germany, Australia, New Zealand and now in Canada. In previous helpx/ workaway experiences I helped for example with gardening, cleaning and reorganising, some Instagram and Website work, bookkeeping and daily tasks around the house.

Kevin: I am an avid outdoors lover having worked in related fields including forest firefighting, working as a park ranger and a recreation officer for around 8 years and hold a Bachelor's degree in environmental science. Most of all I love sharing this passion with others. I have experience in project management and procurement as well as use with a variety of tools and machinary including basic carpentary (mainly things like chicken coops, small shed work sheds) and landscaping. I also love to cook and always welcome new and exciting challenges.
