Description
Hola, me llamo Josh.
I’m here to meet new people, experience different ways of life, and lend a hand wherever I can, especially if it gets my hands dirty.
I enjoy spending time outdoors, cooking, and connecting with others through shared experiences. I was a chef for a few year, so love cooking for others. I'm also a musician, and music has always been a big part of how I connect with people and cultures. Cooking and sharing meals, playing music, and learning something new each day are what keep me going.
I've done many Workaway-type experiences in Aotearoa (casi siemper en granjas), and I loved them all. I’m easygoing, respectful, and happy to help out however needed, whether it’s in the kitchen, the garden, or anything else.

More details about your skills
I’m a native English speaker and have been learning Spanish this year. I’m still working on it, but improving steadily and keen to learn. I also speak a bit of te reo Māori, the indigenous language of Aotearoa New Zealand which I love sharing with others.
I love working outdoors and getting my hands dirty. Over the years, I’ve done several Workaway stints on farms back home in New Zealand, including working with cattle and sheep, general farm maintenance, gardening, and other physical tasks. I really enjoy being part of practical, outdoor projects, especially when there's something new to learn. Whether it’s digging, building, chopping wood, or wrangling animals, I’m up for it.
I’m also a trained chef and still love cooking, especially using local ingredients or cooking for others. I enjoy being in the kitchen just as much as I do being out in the field, and I’m always happy to feed a crowd.
Over the past year, I’ve been pet sitting regularly, so I’m experienced with caring for animals — mainly dogs and cats, but I’m comfortable around all creatures, big and small.
On the more technical side, I studied economics at university and have worked in roles involving numbers and analysis. I’m also fairly tech-savvy thanks to a few personal projects and am happy to help out with anything digital, web, tech or admin-related.
Overall, I’m reliable, curious, and always keen to pitch in and learn something new — especially if it involves working outside, being active, or connecting with others.

What else ...
Outside of work and travel, I spend a lot of time playing music, I’ve played in bands for years and love jamming with others or just picking up an instrument and seeing where it goes. Music is a big part of my life and one of my favourite ways to connect with people.
I’m also into hiking and being out in nature whenever I can, whether it’s multi-day treks or just getting out for a walk. Reading is another big interest of mine (usually fiction or something about the world), and when I’m not out exploring or reading, I’m probably in the kitchen. I love experimenting with new ingredients, learning local cooking styles, and sharing meals with people.
I’m pretty laid-back, easy to get along with, and always keen to learn or try something new — whether it’s a local dish, a board game, or just a different way of doing things.
