Hi! We’re Jonna and Luca, currently living in the Netherlands where we are both studying a Master’s in Governance of Sustainability. Jonna is 26 years old from Sweden, and Luca is 25 from Italy. Sustainability is something we’re both genuinely passionate about, both through our studies and in everyday life.

We’re both active people who enjoy being outdoors, staying active, exploring new places, and meeting new people. Jonna is into football, running, cooking, baking, knitting, and crocheting, while Luca is passionate about climbing, running, veganism, and especially vegan food technology. We both enjoy nature, hiking, good food, and learning from different cultures and ways of living.

We’ve both traveled quite a lot over the years. Jonna has worked as an au pair in both New York and London, and has also backpacked through South America and Southeast Asia. Luca has traveled all over the world, and done some really cool trekking! Traveling has made us both more open-minded, adaptable, and curious, hency why we are now here on Workaway ;)

We would describe ourselves as easy-going, positive, and flexible people who enjoy helping out and seeking to becoming part of everyday life wherever we stay. We’re looking for genuine cultural exchange experiences where we can contribute, learn new things, and meet interesting people. We’re happy to do Workaway experiences together, but we’re also open to separate opportunities if that suits the situation better.

We’ve only had good experiences so far and are excited for more adventures ahead :)

Jonna can teach Swedish and English. (Have a University degree in English literature, which makes me eligible to be an actual English teacher in Sweden) Luca can teach Italian and Spanish and English. We are both very interested in learning new languages!

We are both active and curious people who enjoy physical work, being outdoors, and learning new things. We’re quite different in some ways though. I’m a bit calmer and enjoy slower things like yoga and peaceful routines, while Luca has endless energy and is always moving. It balances out well.

Jonna: I have worked on an eco vegetable farm before, where I did a lot of repetitive physical work like harvesting onions for hours at a time, and I really enjoyed it. I like practical outdoor work and don’t mind getting my hands dirty. I’ve also worked as an Au Pair and nanny, so I’m super happy to take care of children too.
Besides that, I have several years of experience working in hospitality, including restaurants, stores, and bars. I currently work part-time as a bartender in a billiards place, so I’m used to working with people, staying flexible and helping out wherever needed.

Luca is also very active and especially passionate about climbing. He grew up in the Italian countryside, so he has experience with gardening and practical outdoor work as well. He speaks fluent Italian and Spanish.
One of Luca’s biggest strengths is connecting with people. He’s very social, open-minded, and brings good energy everywhere. Somehow he always ends up becoming friends with strangers wherever we go.

We are both into sustainability and very keen to learn more about small-scale sustainable solutions. We are both doing the same master's degree in Governance of Sustainability, which is why we are looking for this type of experience in particular.
