Hello!
I'm Jess and I'm from Scotland. I have been working in New Zealand for the past year and now hoping to travel for the summer and explore as much of this beautiful country as I can.
I have done several workaways before and have found the setup really suits me as I love to meet new people and explore places that I may not have otherwise visited. I would love to find workaways where I can spend some time outside but I'm up for any type of work, especially gardening and anything practical/DIY-based.
I'm a very easy-going and friendly person and have lots of enthusiasm to get stuck into projects. I can be independent and happy to entertain myself by going for hikes and exploring new areas but I also love chatting to new people and exchanging stories. I love all things outdoorsy - running, climbing, hiking. I'm also passionate about conservation and have a degree in ecology so would be interested in restoration/ecological projects. I also love cooking and sharing food with people, and I'm always up for learning new recipes from other countries.

I have some gardening experience - weeding, raking, strimming, planting, making raised beds.
I also have worked in a guest house for 3 years so have experience cleaning, cooking, and speaking to guests.
I did 3 Workaways last summer (2023, with my friend through her profile) and 2 this summer (2024) which included:
- gardening (weeding, strimming, planting)
- child care
- cooking meals
- insulating a roof with natural materials
- using power tools
- heavy lifting/household jobs
- DIY projects
I'm enthusiastic and happy to help with any type of work needed! I'm up for getting my hands dirty and always keen to learn new skills.
