Hey!

My name is Ismail, I'm 31 years old from London and have taken a sabbatical from work for the rest of this year for travelling.

I'm really happy to do any kind of work to help out. Both my grandparents and my uncle had farms which I visited a lot growing up, so I'm used to being in a rural environment and in the countryside. From previous volunteering I also have some experience with basic construction (volunteered on a canal restoration project) and gardening (worked with youth offenders on an allotment) although I'd definitely be learning on the job.

I'm also learning French (currently at an intermediate level) so really keen to practice this as much as possible!

I'm currently learning French, so would love the opportunity to be in a francophone environment and to be able to practice more. I've had several language exchange partners so I've also got a lot of experience helping people to learn English, whether that's just having a conversation, providing them with new vocabulary or explaining some of the grammar. It's something I really enjoy and I'm always happy to help people with their English.

Job-wise I consider myself very versatile. I'm a quick learner, an excellent problem-solver and I don’t mind jumping into new opportunities.

I was previously working in policy for the Department for Environment in England so I 'm really interested in sustainable living and reducing waste.

I've previously volunteered on a construction site to restore a section of a canal in England so I have some experience working with tools and learning new skills , however this was a few years ago now!

I've also worked on gardening and planting projects, including identifying and mapping apple trees in a small town on the south coast of England, and working on a small allotment with youth offenders. Whilst my skills didn't go much beyond weeding and seeding, I'm really keen to learn more about gardening!

I love sports and in particular tennis and football. I used to play tennis at a high level when I was younger including in competitions so if you have some racquets, maybe we can play :)
