Description
I see a deep need to live more simply. I know at our current rate of use we will likely run out of resources like oil in my lifetime. I’d love to experience how other people are living more sustainably so I can learn for my own future :). I am interested in learning how to live off the land, from my own food, use my on irrigation and energy systems, construct my own structures, while being able to give back to Mother Nature, increase the bio diversity and health of the ecosystem rather than decreasing it.

More details about your skills
I am a recent college graduate in social ecology (psychology, criminology, urban planning). My degree taught me some of the many ways that the current global economic and political systems and unjust and extractive, and demonstrated the somewhat urgent need to create new systems and live more simply. I have worked a variety of jobs in myriad of industries. Worked as a line cook, a youth sports coach with a long time in swimming, as a morticians assistant, and as a car wrapper. I am somewhat handy and know enough about tools to get the job done.
Though I am definitely a novice, I am observant and a fast learned and will pick up on any tips or techniques in construction or permaculture, or whatever are, quickly. I have strong work ethic and am in good physical shape, capable of difficult manual labor. I am fluent in English a beginner in Spanish potentially looking to learn more. I am creative and love to craft, sewing, painting with acrylic, and any other crafts that catch my eye. I am hoping to learn a new way of life slower and more sustainable than the fast paced capitalism in America. I like the idea of “the Great Simplification” by Nate Hagens and would love to contribute to something positive and balanced for the Earth :) -
