  • Description

Kia ora (hello) I'm Hannah! I'm a friendly, hardworking, and reliable 30 year old from Aotearoa New Zealand and live in the capital city, Wellington. I am currently on a six-month sabbatical from the end of April to mid October and am absolutely loving it. I have been working a corporate job and living in Wellington since I graduated from university, and have been really enjoying experiencing life outside of this.

I’m hardworking, reliable, and love helping out wherever I can. I'm interested in lots of different Workaway experiences, particularly those where I can experience a cultural exchange where I can learn about life in your amazing country, or where I can learn about how to become self-sustainable in an environmentally friendly/sustainable way (food-related production, gardening, preservation etc). I'm really open minded and happy to pitch in with whatever tasks you need help with and learn as I go. I also love animals and have done a lot of pet and housesitting in New Zealand, so if you have pets I will be very happy and would love to help with looking after them.

Although I am happily independent and comfortable spending time alone, I would love to stay with hosts that have a warm, welcoming, and family-vibe. I am curious and would love to learn about your life, and in turn I can share what life in my small corner of the world is like. I know a little bit of Te Reo Māori (one of New Zealand’s official languages) and I’m happy to share what I know about the language and culture if hosts are curious. I have no dietary requirements, and full drivers licence.

I'm looking forward to meeting new people, learning from lots of different ways of living and projects, and getting to call some amazing places home along the way :)

Petsitting (10+ years) - I have a verified profile on Pawshake (petsitting website) with lots of reviews which I can provide a link for.

Basic renovation - On my first Workaway I prepared and painted a striped ceiling (see photos), helped restore some of the wooden features of the house (removing paint and sanding), and removed paint from the facade of the house.

Cooking - I love cooking, am always happy to help out with meals (I make a great sous chef), and love making new recipes.

A can do attitude, clean and tidy, and an awesome problem solver :)

  • What else ...

I love the outdoors and being active. Some of my favourite things are hiking, camping, and being by the water. I would be very interested in hearing your hiking recommendations, particularly if your country has a hut network for overnight or multi-day hiking.

I ran my first marathon last year and have recently started swimming and cycling, with the plan being to work towards entering a triathlon eventually!

I also have a full drivers licence.
