Description
Hi!
I'm Gracie, an American wildlife biologist on a working holiday visa. I’m looking for opportunities to connect with the local community, help conserve native ecosystems, meet new people, and learn new skills.
About me:
I have worked various jobs ranging from sea turtle conservation, invasive predator and plant control, bird surveys and conservation, farm work, gardening/weeding, smoothie barista and customer service, nannying, and summer camp counseling/education. I also grew up exploring the outdoors; camping, hiking, mountain biking, etc. I love to have a purpose wherever I am, and I’m a very independent worker. While overseas I have worked on a small family farm, adventure activities for community events, removing invasive plants in a regenerative native forest, home gardening/weeding, and as an au pair! I love to do it all :D
My personality:
My friends and family would describe me as bubbly, energetic, outgoing, empathetic, friendly, and funny. I love to uplift the people around me and provide lots of laughs and good energy. Although I'm very extroverted, I can come off as a bit shy at first but I'm just getting a read on others energy! I also occasionally need my down time to recharge.
My hobbies and interests:
I love to bike, swim, read, hike, camp, skate (board & blades), and listen to good music :-). I love hanging out with pets and families!! Thanks to my last workaway family, I also love to cook now!!! -

What else ...
I most appreciate a positive, open communication style with my peers and host! I thrive and perform best in environments built off of kindness, encouragement, and hands on training. Once you show me how you want a job done, I'm very quick to learn and work independently.
