Description
Emily -
I’m a highly creative person with a degree in Illustration, experience creating brands, designing materials for businesses, and I absolutely love designing and planning murals which is something I’m eager to do more of! I have hands on experience painting one large scale, colourful garden mural in Cornwall, capturing a bright harbour view so we could have a sea view from our garden. My creativity also shines in the classroom with young children, and in the kitchen, where I enjoy coming up with delicious veggie recipes. My experience as a primary school teacher means I’m responsible, patient, and confident looking after children of all ages, from nursery upwards. I love creating fun, engaging activities and making sure every child feels safe, happy, and inspired. Outside of work, I’m always keen to explore—cycling, learning to surf, and meeting new people!
Miguel -
From Argentina and Spain, brings a positive energy wherever he goes. He’s upbeat and approachable—always up for helping out and giving anything a try! On top of being a talented musician (guitar) , Miguel has years of experience working in hospitality (schools, hostels, restaurants, and more) so he knows how to make guests feel welcome and keep things running smoothly. He’s also got a knack for gardening, has previously worked on cars, painting, and decorating houses, and is totally flexible about tackling all sorts of new projects. Plus, he’s a native Spanish speaker, so he’s happy to share language and culture too!
We’re both proactive, full of curiosity, and genuinely can’t wait to meet new people, learn new skills, and make amazing memories.

Emily: I have a lot of experience working in waitressing and bar work so I can work under pressure in a busy environment whilst still making sure the customers are happy.
As well as being experienced in housekeeping and cleaning.
My creative skills include confidence in using Photoshop and other adobe programmes, digital design, mural design, online marketing/branding etc.

What else ...
We have experience house and pet sitting through TrustedHousesitters, which has allowed us to explore new places like Barcelona and various villages around England. We absolutely love animals and really enjoy connecting with different pets—each one has their own personality! For us, immersing ourselves in places as locals is a unique and meaningful way to travel, and we’d love to keep carrying on this style of adventure through Workaway.
We love exploring new interests and hobbies together—recently we started salsa lessons, and we often have painting nights, cook three-course meals for each other, head out to explore new places, join guided tours, and go on hikes. This year, we’re hoping to do a bit of camping too!
