  • Description

Hello I am Ellie! I am an artist, farmer and educator living in the Pacific Northwest of the USA.

I am soon beginning a short solo travel adventure to enjoy new landscapes, cultures, stories, and friends. I am interested in seeing how people are living thoughtful unconventional lives in other parts of the world.
For the past 8 years I have operated my own farm, and now work at the local university, teaching college students small scale farm skills and cultivating community resilience and social connection.
A few more things about myself— I am an avid maker of many things– ceramics, food, jewelry, poetry, music! I feel best when I am spending more time outdoors than indoors; backpacking, bicycle touring, hiking, trail running, rock climbing, swimming. I love learning about traditional foodways and connecting with people about the plants that are most important to them. I also love foraging for wild foods; berries, seaweed, clams, mushrooms!

In 2017 I spent a couple months traveling and staying with workaway hosts in Iceland and Norway. It was a fantastic experience and I made some great lifelong friends!

    Cheers,
    Ellie
