  • Description

Italy is one of my favourite places in the world and as a workaway host for many years in Atlantic Canada I now hope to give back, meet some beautiful people, roll up my sleeves and soak up the atmosphere in Italy this September and October. I hope to be able to help garden and/or participate in the olive harvest!

    Some things about me:
    - I am a gardener, I've been building a herb/veg/pollinator garden at my home in Canada
    - recently finished renovating a fixer upper next to a national park near the forest and sea (with some workaway help!)
    - my main interests are gardening, outdoor adventure, artistic projects, sustainable living and community building
    - I am an English language teacher by profession
    - experience and skills in painting, tiling, light construction, composting, some permaculture techniques, running Airbnb/glamping accommodations, cob and earth building
    - I love kids and have a lot of experience of working with children of all ages. I was a nanny, au pair
    - I raised my sister's children as a single foster mom for 9 years
    - I biked from Vancouver to the south of Mexico with my partner (who is from Chile)
    - I went to the University of the South Pacific in Fiji for a semester and volunteered as a project coordinator for sustainable community projects with the World Wildlife Fund for Nature
    - I lived for 2 years in Thailand working with Burmese refugees on human rights issues
    - I like to travel in a way that is slow and lets me meet people and experience local life

**I am a digital nomad and teach online 6 days a week - in Italy the time will be 12 noon to about3:30- 4 pm (I teach young children in China) and so I will need a quiet space with WIFI to work in where I won't be disturbed or disturb others and I also need volunteer hours that will be in the morning before I teach and/or in the afternoon after I teach**

If you are able to accommodate that need, I am a very hard worker who is skilled and passionate about gardening, engaging in artistic projects, working with kids, and I love projects that help local communities and economies thrive! I'd love to help you with and be inspired by your amazing project!
