  • Description

I'll be staying in Costa Rica from the 10th July - 13th August, I have my flights booked and can provide you with flight numbers so you can check if you'd like :) !

Hi My name is Cam, I'm a 21 year old student from the North West of England. I currently study Accounting and Finance at University at the University of Liverpool and i love it! As much as this course may come with come with money hungry connotations, this couldn't be further from the truth for me, i adore helping others and ensuring everyone has a fair shot at whatever their aspirations are.

Some background information about me: I was born in Scotland to a military dad (Royal Air Force, he was one of the Red Arrows, the UK's pilot show team) and an elementary school mother. I moved around quite a lot as a child living in over 10 houses before i was even 18! One of these houses included a farm, where i spent all my time after school relaxing with cows, sheep and chickens. I've done all sorts of jobs, including a cook (I even cooked for a professional England footballer and would be delighted to cook for you or even learn new techniques from you), a shop assistant, a stock manager, a delivery driver and i also used to work stripping out houses.

As well as this i try to volunteer for at least 2 weeks every year whilst im at home in England, most of this is done with the charity Festival Angels (who have provided me with a reference, so dont hesitate to ask for this). Volunteering with them involved helping people from all walks of life with all sorts of tasks, whether it was directions, setting up tents, helping them find their friends or even something as simple as sharing a cup of tea and a biscuit (how British can you get lol).

In my down time i love playing music and could talk about it for hours (so if you dont like having your ears chewed off dont ask me anything to do with music!), I currently play 2 instruments, guitar and bass, which i taught myself starting in COVID-19 lockdown as i absolutely hated sitting around doing nothinh all day, id also be more than happy to help you on your own journey with music. The next instrument i would like to learn is paino, so any help would be a huge bonus! Being able to play has granted me huge amounts of awesome opportunities, such as doing a charity gig in partnership with Vans and even playing at the prestigious Cambridge University for their May Ball.

Outside of music i am an incredibly active person and enjoy hiking, football (or soccer), table tennis, mountain biking and table tennis. Playing sports for my entire life has helped me develop key skills like communication and the ability to be a great team player, helping me realise that no 1 person can win a game alone, its about how you collaborate that leads to greatness.

  • More details about your skills

One of the main skills I have would have to be communication, I love any opportunity to meet new people, explore new cultures and make new friends, I've always believed a first impression goes a long way and make sure every new person i meet is treated as a friend as being friendly is the best way to live life!

Another skill i have is my ability to learn new things, for example i've taught myself 2 instruments (and plan on learning piano next so any tips would be perfect) i'm currently studying towards a degree and i'm always willing to try a new challenge and learn from it.

My past jobs have given me a large, varied skillset, these previous jobs include - Cook, Stock manager, Shop assistant, Delivery Driver, Stripping houses and a Teaching assistant, so for anyone wanting to practise language, i would love to help, i am very patient, and explain both the rules of English and the correct way of saying things
