Description
Dear future host,
I'm a 42 year old woman. Belgian on my passport, born in Chile, and more at home as a citizen of the world than as a citizen of any one place. I'm writing to you from the threshold of a new chapter in my life, and I'm looking for somewhere meaningful to land for a month before I step into it.
For the past seven years I have worked in trauma-informed care — first as a crisis family counselor with VZW de Cocon, and since then at Kwadrant, supporting children and adolescents living with trauma and neurodevelopmental challenges (ADHD and related regulation difficulties). Parallel to this employed work, I have been building my own practice, Latitude33, in systemic coaching, breathwork facilitation, and writing. After many years of preparation, this autumn I will move into full-time self-employment — but first I want to take a month away. To rest, to be of service somewhere else, to remember the wider world before I narrow into my own work again.
That's why I'm writing to you.
What I can bring:
Years of attentive presence with people in difficult moments — patience, calm under pressure, the ability to be useful without needing to be in charge. Practical hands willing to learn whatever your place needs: gardening, kitchen work, cleaning, animal care, child care, basic maintenance, hosting guests, helping with events. I've done permaculture work in Greece (RE-GREEN, summer 2017, PERMACULTURE DESIGN COURSE 2023), volunteered with people with mental disabilities in Galaxidi (ESTIA), supported a mindful retreat center in Thailand (New Life Foundation, two summers), and helped community projects in Belgium between studies. If your place welcomes it, I can also offer breathwork sessions, contemplative practice or quiet group facilitation as part of what I share — but only where it fits and is wanted.
I speak Dutch (native), English (fluent), French (good), and Spanish (conversational). I drive, I carry weight, I wake up early — and I genuinely enjoy the steady rhythms of a place where work, food and rest follow the day's natural light.
What I'm hoping for:
Somewhere grounded in nature, slow rhythms, or community work. A place where the morning means a sunrise and a cup of something warm before the day begins. Hosts who value mutual respect and shared meals as much as completed tasks. If your project involves regenerative agriculture, contemplative practice, care for vulnerable people or animals, or simply a quiet corner of the world where people live close to the earth — please tell me about it.
A few practical notes:
What I have learned across twenty years of traveling, working in care and stepping in and out of communities: the smallest, simplest places often hold the deepest transformations. A garden in Greece. A kitchen in Thailand. A quiet sunrise over hills that don't ask anything of you. These are not extras to a full life — they are often what a full life rests on.
I would love to be of service to your place, and to let it return me to myself before I begin my next chapter.
Warm regards,
Angela
