  • Description

Meeting people from different corners of the world has deepened my belief that we are all part of one interconnected human family. Over the years, I have travelled to approximately 54 countries, and in 2022 I completed a round-the-world journey across all seven continents, including to both ‘’the North Pole and the South Pole.’’ These experiences inspired me to write and publish my travel memoir, ''Embracing the World'', and I am currently revising my new manuscript, "Humanizing Democracy." A peaceful rural setting provides the ideal environment for focused writing, reflection, and creative work.
I grew up in Kenya, where we kept chickens and goats, so caring for animals has always been a natural part of my life. I am very comfortable with house sitting, pet care, and maintaining a calm, responsible presence in someone else's home. I have completed Workaway placements in Canada, Australia, South Africa, Norway, and Sweden, including living with the Indigenous Sami people. Each experience strengthened my appreciation for reliability, cultural exchange, and caring for hosts' homes and animals with dedication and respect.
I particularly enjoy peaceful countryside environments, nature, and simple routines. I am confident caring for dogs, cats, horses and chickens. I understand the importance of maintaining consistent routines, providing reassurance, and respecting each animal's individual personality and needs.
I am independent and respectful of other people's homes and privacy. I am accustomed to rural living and comfortable managing a property on my own, including carrying out outdoor tasks. A quiet environment with reliable internet allows me to continue my writing while fully honouring my responsibilities as a house and pet sitter.
I would welcome the opportunity to care for your home and animals, giving you complete peace of mind while you are away. In return, I look forward to experiencing everyday life in a new community, contributing positively to your home, and continuing the cultural exchanges that have enriched my travels around the world.

  • What else ...

For years, I have been active in community work, helping reserved immigrant individuals in the UK build confidence and integrate into society. I organize workshops focused on public speaking, cultural understanding, and practical skills for navigating local systems. Additionally, I run a buddy program pairing newcomers with well-integrated members of the community for guidance and encouragement. Through participation in community projects and sharing success stories, I aim to foster a sense of belonging and inspire others to overcome barriers and thrive.
