Description
I’d describe myself as outdoorsy and curious, I love learning about ecosystems and traveling to new places as well as living there to experience different ways of life.
I’m living a rural life at the moment with some friends, growing food, looking after some rescued chickens and cooking / fermenting seasonal produce. I love getting out on the ocean in my kayak. I have a few other hobbies like looking for fossils on the Jurassic coast and getting creative by up cycling old furniture.Interests

More details about your skills
I'm currently living a rural lifestyle growing food for the community I live with while also trying to strengthen local ecosystems, such as creating habitat for different wildlife species, growing winter food sources for birds and improving soil health. For work I've been employed as a chef, but recently I've refurbished an old catering trailer and plan to work in that this summer.
Last year I completed a MSc in Land and Ecosystem Restoration and for my research project I investigated how different growing techniques can increase the nutritional content of food grown in crisis situations. Taking inspiration from Karama Organisation's rooftop farming system in Palestine, I constructed growing beds to mimic their setup and displayed them at the Eden project to raise public awareness of both the value of the work being done in situations like this and also how important healthy soil is for our health.
In my free time I'm enjoying learning and experimenting with fermented foods and drinks that are both very healthy and tasty, and I'm really enjoying learning more building / carpentry skills as I make things to aid our food growing projects.Age
