  • Description

    Hello!

I am just about to graduate from the University of Michigan with a degree in Computer Science. Over the past 2 years I have rediscovered my love for art and nature though the lens of my first camera. My Fujifilm camera has followed me throughout so many fun college memories and most significantly through my semester abroad in Prague, Czech Republic. Finding and editing pictures is extremely satisfying but what makes the pictures so great are the unreal sites and people I meet along my way through life.

Even though I've just spend 4 years in an academic institution, I still have an infinite amount of information I need to take in about the world. Through my travels in life, I have learned travel is the best way to absorb the world in all the ways a school cannot teach you.

At my heart, I am a nerd who loves to learn and problem solve. I love getting fully enveloped in my hobbies, and, almost even more, I love to listen to what others are fascinated in to see what joys of life we can share. I am open to all challenges that may come to me as they are all chances to learn and grow (no matter how scary they may be in the moment!)

    -Alex Bartolozzi

    Hey!

I’m about to graduate from the University of Virginia, where I’ve been studying Commerce with a focus on marketing and management. A lot of my time has been spent leading and building communities, whether that’s through an a cappella group, student organizations, or working on creative and strategy-focused projects, but the moments that have stuck with me most have been the ones that take me out of routine and into something more hands-on and human.

Over the past few years, I’ve realized how much I value experiences that feel tangible like being outside, working with people directly, and contributing to something I can actually see grow or improve. I’ve spent a lot of time in structured, fast-paced environments, and I’m really excited by the idea of shifting into something more grounded like learning practical skills, helping where I’m needed, and being part of a local rhythm of life.

Travel to me isn’t just about seeing new places, but rather it's an understanding of how people live, what they care about, and how different communities function day to day. I’m especially drawn to opportunities where I can be useful, whether that’s helping with physical work, organizing, problem-solving, or just bringing positive energy to a team.

At my core, I’m someone who likes to stay busy, learn quickly, and fully commit to whatever I’m doing. I’m easygoing, adaptable, and genuinely enjoy meeting new people and hearing their stories. I’m open to any kind of work and challenge (especially the ones that push me a bit outside my comfort zone) because those are usually the ones that end up meaning the most.

More details about my language interests
My spanish has been slowly fading as I haven't taken a class to learn it or practiced it in about 4 years. I have most recently been obsessed with learning German as my girlfriend is fluent and I would love to be able to speak with her. -Alex Bartolozzi I've been using my Spanish pretty frequently after having learned it regularly throughout my childhood and adolescence. I've studied abroad in Valencia, Spain for 2 months, and loved every second. Picking up Italian, by the way, was easier than expected when I traveled previously with Alex in high school, so I imagine many of the romance languages could be a breeze.

  • More details about your skills

My most significant skills of note are cooking and photography. I have loved cooking and baking since I was a child. I've taken part in baking competitions and am almost always the one to prepare a meal for when my friends come together for a dinner. Photography has become a passion in the past 2 years as I have gone from simply taking pictures of friends when going out to nature photography to street photography and even some professional work with headshots and graduation pictures.

On the whole though, I am a very quick learner and have experience in manual labor through some chores, odd jobs, and a stint as a shopping cart pusher at a VERY busy grocery store in my hometown. I am not afraid to get my hands dirty, get creative, be fast, or be precise when necessary.

Additionally, I have a Master's Degree in Computer Science and a minor degree in Mathematics. I enjoy teaching and know my way around a computer.

    -Alex Bartolozzi

I bring a mix of leadership, creativity, and a strong willingness to do whatever is needed. I’ve spent a lot of time organizing groups, running events, and working closely with teams, so I’m comfortable communicating, taking initiative, and making sure things actually get done.

Music has been a big part of my life through a cappella, which has made me detail oriented and used to working toward a shared goal over time. I’ve also done creative work in design and marketing, so I have experience with tools like Canva and Photoshop and understand how to present ideas clearly.

I pick things up quickly and adjust well to new environments. I’ve handled logistics, planning, and more hands-on responsibilities, and I’m always willing to step into whatever role is needed. I don’t mind physical work or long days, and I like the feeling of being useful and seeing progress from what I’m doing.

I’m comfortable with basic tech and organization, and I enjoy solving problems as they come up. Overall, I’m dependable, easy to work with, and ready to contribute wherever I can.

We both love to get active whether its pushing ourselves in the gym or some cardio on a run, bike, hike, or swim. We also really enjoy yoga and meditation.
