Description
Hi! I’m a recent graduate of the Architectural Technology program at Humber College in Toronto, Canada. While I’ve had some experience working in architecture, I’ve decided to take a break before diving into my career full-time to explore things I’ve dreamed about for years — especially rural life, hands-on work, and being around farm animals.
I’m physically capable, quick to learn, and really excited to gain experience working with horses, cattle, and even crops. I don’t have formal farm or ranch experience yet, but I’m motivated, open-minded, and ready to work hard. I’m especially interested in animal care, sustainable living, and the day-to-day operations of a ranch.
I am interested in moving to Alberta or BC, Canada full-time in the coming years so this work stay is to fully immerse myself into the lifestyle as much as I can. Experience the rough and tumbles of the western lifestyle along with the thrill of it. I would be so honored to work and learn from experienced ranchers as much as they are willing to teach me. I am extremely motivated especially given that this lifestyle has been a dream of mine for at least 5 years now, meaning that I am prepared to work really hard to learn all that I can.
On the technical side, I do have skills in design and construction drawings (working with CAD, REVIT and other architectural tools), which I’d be happy to offer if needed — but I’m mainly here to step outside the office and get my hands dirty, learn from the land, and meet good people.
UPDATE (March, 28, 2026):
I am currently at my first Workaway on a ranch in western Canada, where I help with daily ranch chores, work with livestock, and spend lots of time around horses. I have been enjoying the hands-on work and the lifestyle, and it has made me realize how much I love being around animals and learning practical skills. I enjoy working hard, learning new skills, and helping wherever I’m needed. I’ve especially fallen in love with being around horses and can’t imagine being away from them for long again. -
