Description

My name is Joseph, but I go by West—like the direction. I was born and raised in Minnesota, and I carry that grounded Midwestern warmth with me wherever I go.

I’ve lived a full and varied life so far. I spent six years in New York building a meaningful life and growing both personally and professionally. Eventually, I felt the pull of home and returned to Minnesota, where I opened a small Tea Bar built around community, conversation, and connection. Four years later, it’s thriving—a place where people gather to enjoy tea, play board games, and feel at home.

Now, I’m ready for a new chapter. I want to live a bit more outside of mainstream society—less screen time, fewer distractions, more presence. I’m drawn to hands-on, manual work and a lifestyle rooted in simplicity, nature, and real human connection.

My dad taught me how to fix things and handle just about any practical task, and I carry those skills with pride. I approach every challenge with creativity and a “we’ll make it work” mindset—often in surprising but effective ways. I bring a genuinely happy energy wherever I go; I keep morale high and smiles going.

I’ve also been learning Czech for about a year—slowly and imperfectly, but with heart. My family originally comes from there, and I hope to visit one day and connect more deeply with my roots.

I’m someone who builds, uplifts, and adapts. I’ve created joy in many places, and now I’m looking for my next chapter.

I’m a hands-on artist who’s been building and creating my entire life. I have strong common sense, a solid work ethic, and a natural ability to figure things out. For example, I recently changed the chain and rear sprocket on my motorcycle—something I had never done before—and I handled it without hesitation.

When I built my tea bar, I did all the construction myself. It was a huge project, but I loved every minute of it. I’m the kind of person who becomes an expert in anything I set my mind to, and I take pride in perfecting the timing and flow of a job to make it as productive as possible.

I’m a bit of a perfectionist, but I balance it with a playful, creative, slightly ridiculous artist energy. That mix keeps the work high-quality—and fun.
