  • Description

    Hello hosts!
We are an outgoing and creative couple from Italy. We met in Rome in 2021 and have since embarked on many adventurous projects together — including writing and publishing a book, walking across parts of Italy for six months while documenting our journey on a blog, and traveling for 10 months across India and Southeast Asia to become yoga instructors and sound-healing practitioners.

Our current goal is to combine part-time work as yoga instructors with our passion for cinema — we’d love to make our own films one day.

But before diving into that story, let’s start with separate introductions:

    Walter:

I come from the Italian Alps, where my love for nature first took root. I have always been drawn to wide open spaces, deep forests, and quiet trails—places where I feel most grounded and inspired.

I hold a PhD in Earth Sciences and worked as a researcher at Royal Holloway, University of London. Over the years, I have lived and worked in Spain, France, the Netherlands, and England, exploring the intersections between science, culture, and the natural world. Eventually, I felt the pull to shift direction in life and moved to Rome to attend film school, immersing myself in my passion for storytelling and filmmaking.

What motivates me is the desire to create something meaningful—to tell stories that connect people to each other and to the earth beneath their feet. I find happiness in simple things: reading a good book, watching a moving film, or spending time outdoors.

Since stepping into the world of storytelling, I have been involved in projects that blend nature, arts, and science. One of these is Cammino Adagio ("The Slow Walk")—an ongoing journey to cross Italy on foot, narrating the landscape and the lives of the people who inhabit it (see link at the bottom).

Right now, my focus is on writing—and hopefully making—my first film, a step that feels both daunting and deeply fulfilling.

    Elisa:
I grew up in a town near Venice, where I first discovered my passion for theater. I trained as a theater actress at a drama academy in Rome, where I honed my craft in storytelling and performance.

Coming from a family of tree growers, I have always had a deep connection to nature. Working in my family's nursery taught me the art of plant care—nurturing new growth, pruning with patience, and understanding the quiet wisdom of the natural world.

Beyond theater and nature, I find joy in movement and mindfulness. I love hiking, practicing yoga, and exploring the connection between body, breath, and sound. I hold a certification to teach yoga and Tibetan sound healing.

For me, creativity isn’t confined to the stage—it’s in every step of a journey, in the stillness of nature, and in the moments of presence shared with others.

We hope that our paths will cross and that our stay at your place will be a true exchange — just as it’s meant to be.

    Gardening and property maintenance:
We both have experience in gardening and maintenance work. Walter has often worked in his family garden and has painted fences and wooden balconies, while Elisa has assisted with the family business (plant nursery) since she was a child, getting familiar with different aspects of gardening, from preparing new plants to pruning existing ones. She also restored garden furniture. We are efficient and detail-oriented in our hands-on projects, taking great care in what we create and maintaining high-quality standards.

    Yoga and sound healing:
We have recently completed a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training and also a Tibetan sound healing course during a trip in India. We would be thrilled to guide you through a yoga beginner’s class or a sound healing / sound bath treatment.

    Cooking:
We are passionate about cooking (vegetarian and vegan recipes) and would love to prepare some meals for you—especially if we can experiment with locally grown organic vegetables!
We know many classic Italian recipes but we also love to play with things from all over the world.

  • What else ...

Some of our favorite things are the simplest: walking in nature, playing cards in the evening, cooking a homemade meal and sharing a long, thoughtful conversation. We often read literature or watch good cinema, and then spend hours reflecting on it together.
We’re also deeply drawn to Irish history and culture, and dream of living there one day—perhaps by the coast, surrounded by wind, stone, and stories.
We really enjoy cooking and love to try out new recipes. Our diet is plant based but we can cook pretty much anything.
