Description
My name is Valeria. I’m a 24-year-old student from Italy, currently based in Hamburg. Over the past few years, I’ve been living and working across different countries, often in rural areas, where I’ve been involved in education and social projects focused on sustainability, inclusion, and community development.
I just finished my degree in “Politics, International Relations and Economics”, and I’m planning to continue my studies in anthropology and history. What draws me to anthropology is the diversity of human experience, the chance to better understand how differently people live, think, and relate - especially in places and communities that are often overlooked or under-resourced. I figure the more lenses I have, the better I'll be able to squint at the chaos of existence and pretend I understand it.
My experience includes teaching languages and supporting educational programs in rural areas, as well as working on social projects with asylum-seekers and immigrant communities. I’m interested in social work that starts from the ground up: listening before acting, staying longer than expected, and sharing what I can without assuming I know what’s best. I care about simple living, mutual learning, and doing useful work, especially in places where it’s most needed.
I’m here to keep learning, to offer what I have, and to support others in their own paths; wherever they’re headed.Interests

More details about your skills
I have a background in education, cultural mediation, and social work - providing lessons to kids and teenagers, as well as vocational training and counselling to adults. My work has also involved cultural mediation, providing support in refugee shelters, and volunteering as counselor in rehabilitation programs.
My experiences have given me a deep appreciation of adaptability and the importance of human exchange, and taught me to approach each new challenge with curiosity and a willingness to learn.Age

What else ...
In my free time, I immerse myself in music and dancing, with a particular love for folk music. One of my dreams is to learn to play a string instrument, and hopefully pick up new handicraft skills (this one is as much a desperate need as a joyful desire).
I deeply enjoy being in nature, and often go on solo hikes, whether it’s around mountains or any old dirt path.
Above all, I welcome any opportunity to learn something new, even if it means stumbling a bit (and making a fool of myself) in the process. Some more information

While I was given a structured lesson plan to work with, there was also plenty of room to adapt and try new approaches. I taught children, teenagers, and even teachers, which kept each day varied and… read more
