Description
We love diving into other cultures, getting into touch with people, sharing ideas, working together...
3 years ago, when suddenly all of our kids had left home to travel abroad, we followed the advice of our daughter to dive head first into workaway. We loved it so much that my husband and I again decided to take 2 months off from work this summer to be at places we'd always dreamed of. Traveling just for the sake of moving around is not what gets us exited. We dream of Japan - traditional craftmanship, tea, gardens... So, now we're back!

Ulrike loves gardening, to get her hands dirty. We do grow fruits and vegetables and flowers at home and we make jellies and jams. I am keeping bees (5 hives right now, involving everything from tending to the bees to marketing the honey myself), and I can handle nails, hammer, screwdriver, saw etc. as we do most things ourselves that need to be done around the house.
Christian also enjoys gardening but is even more into constructing and forging right now. He used to thatch roofs and did a lot of straw and mud plastering. He currently also tends to his own small forest with Ulrikes support, helping it develop from a monoculture pine tree plantation to a forest full of divers species. And he is very sophisticated in baking bread.
