    We are a Kichwa family project located in the Ecuadorian Amazon surrounded by jungle, rivers, caves and mountains.

    Our family works with tourism, agriculture and cultural exchange. We grow cacao, coffee, naranjilla, yuca and other tropical crops, and we also work with fish farming and traditional chakra agriculture.

    We are looking for friendly and respectful volunteers who would enjoy simple living, nature and family life in the Amazon.

    Volunteers may help with:

    * agriculture and gardening
    * cacao, coffee and naranjilla crops
    * fish farming
    * eco-tourism activities
    * cultural exchange and language practice

    We have good internet access and simple homemade food.

    We prefer volunteers who speak some Spanish and who are interested in learning about Kichwa culture and Amazonian life 😊

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

    Welcome to a Kichwa family project in the Ecuadorian Amazon. Our family works in tourism, agriculture, and cultural exchange. Every morning, from 4 to 6 a.m., as a Kichwa family, we organize our day's activities: tending to crops like cacao, coffee, naranjilla, and yucca, and practicing fish farming. This routine is a vital part of our lives, and we want to share it with volunteers who enjoy nature, simple living, and Amazonian culture.Furthermore, June 13th is a special day in our community, when we celebrate the Wayusa Upina ceremony. On this day, we perform traditional rituals involving the offering of chili peppers, tobacco, and nettles, as part of our connection with Mother Earth. We are looking for volunteers who would like to experience this unique tradition with our family and learn about Kichwa culture and the customs of the rainforest.

    This host offers a language exchange
    I would love to take advantage of the language exchange to improve my English, as I'm at a beginner level. In return, I'd like to teach Kichwa, share my Amazonian culture, and our ancestral language. I believe it will be a very enriching experience for both of us, and we can learn from each other naturally and personally.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

    In addition, I offer a cozy little wooden house where volunteers can rest, have privacy, and enjoy free Wi-Fi and direct contact with nature. It's a simple, clean space, very much like a family home.

    In our exchange program, we offer three meals a day, based on our family traditions and culture. In our community, we typically eat twice a day, but when possible, we prepare all three meals.

    En nuestro intercambio, ofrecemos tres comidas diarias, basadas en la tradición de nuestra familia y en nuestra cultura. En nuestra comunidad, solemos comer dos veces al día, aunque cuando es posible, preparamos las tres comidas.

    Furthermore, the Amazon region offers many beautiful places we can visit together. If you wish, as a tour guide, I can accompany you to explore other wonders of the province, from caves to crystal-clear rivers and hiking trails. These visits are optional and can be arranged according to your interests.
