Hii everyone!

We are Channelyn and Tom, two travel hungry nature lovers who are exchanging their busy lives in the Netherlands for peaceful and adventurous travel plans. We believe the world is an exciting place and we’re looking forward to exploring all its nooks and crannies, in search of stunning views and interesting people. We hope you would like to be a part of this!

Channelyn is a wonderful soul who is enthusiastically exploring what the world might have in store for her. She loves to talk and care for the ones in need. Coming from an international background, she has some amazing language skills, speaking 5 languages and learning more all the time! In her spare time, she enjoys fitness, baking and watching movies/series. She might also be the biggest cow lover in the world ;)

Tom is curious about basically everything. He’s seeking a life that’s filled with knowledge and skills ranging from farming to knitting, from fishing to painting and everything in between. His positive and open-minded attitude makes him very approachable and easy to get along with.

In general, we are a rather versatile couple with a healthy work ethic. We know how to prepare food, get along well with children and animals and are not afraid to get our hands dirty. But above all, we are tidy and respectful travellers, eager to get to know you and your ways around this beautiful world we live in!

More details about my language interests
We are both rather enthusiastic about language and linguistics in general. Channelyn has a very international background, as she is half Austrian and half Danish. Therefore, she speaks multiple languages fluently and intermediate. She loves to connect with people from all over the world to keep up her language skills. Tom speaks Dutch and English fluently and has been learning quite a bit of Norwegian over the last few years. He really enjoys learning about dialects, derivations of words and proverbs and idioms. We are happy to share anything we know regarding languages and would love to learn more from you!

Channelyn has a mix of creative, social and organisational skills. She is an International Business graduate, specialised in Marketing, and has experience working as a Social Advertising Specialist at a large marketing agency. She enjoys being creative, thinking along with others and working with people from different backgrounds. On the other hand, she really enjoys connecting with people, hearing their stories and learning from them. She experienced this in the past, working in hospitality and as a cleaner in elderly care, where being social, caring, reliable and attentive are important.

Photography, especially festival photography, is one of Channelyn’s biggest hobbies. She loves to explore other types of photography as well by capturing people, places and everyday moments. A background in competitive athletics has also taught her to be disciplined, hardworking, and to keep going when things get challenging. Being part of a team is nothing new to her and she’s always happy to help wherever needed.

Tom has a wide variety of skills in many disciplines. He likes to fulfil the role of ‘handyman’, seeing what work needs to be done and jumping in wherever he is needed. Doing a wide variety of practical work is most enjoyable to him, preferably outdoors. New skills are picked up quickly and enthusiastically and of course he would love to teach you everything he knows as well.

He has experience working in restaurants, serving, hosting and cooking for people. More recently he worked as a gardener, doing (large) maintenance work, constructing gardens from start to finish and designing them every now and then. Skills include working with (power)tools and machines ranging from a chainsaw to small loaders/excavators. He has also done beekeeping and (nature) photography for several years now.

We would both really like to develop more practical skills, learning by doing from the people we meet along the way. Any new experience is welcome, whether it’s DIY, building, maintenance, gardening, cooking or working with animals. We’re curious and ready to get our hands dirty!
