Description
Hi, nice to meet you! My name is Tom, I'm 28 and from Belgium.
I've wanted to travel to New-Zealand for a long time, and I've finally decided to go! I'm very excited and also a bit nervous as this will be my first time traveling alone for an extended period. I'm traveling to meet new people, learn about different places, have new experiences, pick up new skills and learn a bit more about myself and the world.
I'm currently working as a store manager in a local board game cafe, a job I love and will say goodbye to come February. As you may have guessed, I love everything games. I love figuring out how it all works and what the best moves are, but most importantly as a way to have fun with friends, although I can be quite competitive if i have to ;).
Besides games I love music, food, reading, and spending quality time with people. I've also recently gotten into painting miniatures (Warhammer 40K). Oh yeah and making puns, I can't help myself.

More details about your skills
I have a degree in philosophy, so if you need a book to be read, I'm your man!
I have experience in doing general maintenance around the house. I like cooking (i make a great spaghetti) I am also good at cleaning, ironing, and such, so I can definitely help out with daily housework. Garden work is not something I have a lot of experience with, but I'm willing to learn!
I've also helped friends move between apartments, helped painting rooms, and have recently been assisting friends here and there who moved to the same town as me in renovating their house.
During the pandemic I did some volunteer work delivering food packages and helped a local non profit by handing out food at a refugee shelter in Brussels.
While at University, we (6 other students studying different subjects, a coach and myself) made a prototype of a portable textile donation container. In one of the photo's you can see us posing with it!
Besides these I like to think I'm a pretty social person, respectful and easy to live with. I don't mind working hard and I'm interested in learning all new skills!
