Description
We are an Italian couple passionate about travel and new experiences. Before the pandemic, Desiree (31) lived in Japan and Davide (35) in Australia. Now, we are based in our hometown, Turin (Italy) and have traveled together in Europe, Asia, and the USA. We'd like to immerse ourselves in local life in new places, especially those we have yet to explore or have particularly enjoyed.
We are considering New Zealand as our next destination, likely towards the end of the year, when we can take a long break for our jobs, but we are open to other possibilities!
We are happy to help with household chores or DIY projects. While we may not be experienced gardeners, we are fast learners and ready to get our hands dirty.
Of course we can also be your language buddies too! We both speak fluent English, and Desiree is a certified Italian teacher for foreigners. She also has basic knowledge of French and German, and a good level of Japanese (if time zones, time and spaces allow I may keep having some lessons online). Davide works in IT and can be your go-to tech guy!
On weekends we also work at food fairs, bringing Japanese snacks around Italy, we may actually cook better Japanese than Italian food ahah
We do not smoke and do not have pets (but we look after our friend's ones!). In our free time, we enjoy playing board games and hiking in nature. We try to go to the gym regularly, but opening a small shop with friends has taken up our time ;) teaching us a lot about business and marketing. We’d love to share our knowledge and learn about business practices in different countries (and get back in shape too ahah)

What else ...
In my free time I (Desiree) also like to make wax candles and go haunting for old books in second hand shops, while Davide has a small 3D printer and likes to make little gadgets and cute stuff, like dice or small raccoon figures, as it is my favourite animal but it is unfortunately illegal to own here in Italy.
